Planning a Lake Day
While the cabin feels secluded, lake access is still very doable with a scenic drive:
Sligo Marina – approximately 35–40 minutes away
Hurricane Marina – approximately 40–45 minutes away
Both provide access to Center Hill Lake, where you can enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking, or a relaxing day on the water.

Monterey is known for its quiet charm, scenic overlooks, and local experiences that make you feel like you've truly gotten away:
Take in breathtaking views at Bee Rock Overlook, a local favorite for sunrise and sunset
Spend a peaceful afternoon fishing or walking at Meadow Creek Park
Step back in time at the Monterey Depot Museum, highlighting the town's railroad history
Visit Muddy Pond General Store for a unique country shopping experience with homemade goods and local favorites

This is a must stay cabin very well done very clean very comfortable. Can’t say enough appreciate that we were a little late getting out maybe eight or 10 minutes but we were doing our best. Our apologies for that. We do realize that there is a 11 o’clock Sharp check out so sorry that we weren’t out exactly the time we should have been we appreciate your understanding.

We had a dead bat in the kitchen sink.
It grossed me out the entire time we were there.
Even after maintenance removed it and we cleaned it, the smell lingered.
There was many bog dust bunnies and cob webs and it was hot upstairs.
Other than that it was fine.
