Über diese haus dieses Ferienunterkunft

Summary:

At Hale Kai, sunrise is not a backdrop. It is the first thing you see from the clifftop lanai as the Pacific wakes up along the Puna coast. This three-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront home sleeps up to four and gives a family or two couples a front-row seat to the Big Island's wilder, greener side. Grill dinner on the wraparound deck, watch the water from floor-to-ceiling glass doors, and keep an eye out for whales, turtles, or dolphins from shore. A local park, a scenic jungle trail toward Haʻena, also known as Shipman Beach, and Orchidland cafes and shops are close by, while Hilo is about 17 miles away when you want more to explore. Come here for the sound of waves, the big sky, and a stay that feels rooted in the raw beauty of East Hawaiʻi.

The Space:

Nearly every room is drawn toward the Pacific through floor-to-ceiling glass doors, so the ocean stays part of the day even when you are inside. Three bedrooms and two baths sleep four, with a full kitchen ready for relaxed meals. The real gathering place is the expansive wraparound deck, furnished for grilling, outdoor dining, and long pauses over the ever-changing water below.

Guest Access:

This Keaau oceanfront home has a private entrance, a patio, and outdoor seating for taking in the Pacific. The wraparound deck and garden setting give guests room to enjoy the dramatic Puna coastline.

The Neighborhood:

Keaʻau and Hawaiian Paradise Park sit on the Big Island's lush Puna coast, where rainforest, sea cliffs, and black-lava shoreline give the area a distinctly wild character. This is a rural, car-friendly part of the island rather than a walkable resort district. Explore a local park or the jungle trail toward Haʻena, also called Shipman Beach, browse Orchidland's cafes and shops, or head roughly 17 miles north to Hilo for markets, restaurants, and a fuller town day. It suits travelers who want ocean drama, space, and an East Hawaiʻi experience far from the usual resort loop.

Getting Around:

Hilo International Airport is about 20 minutes away, a quick and easy drive. A rental car is recommended for reaching the Puna coast's beaches and Hilo's shopping and dining just down the road. Keaau itself is a small community with a modest walkable center, so most errands call for a short drive. Parking is generally simple and available on site.

Other Things to Note:

This property is managed by Heavenly Vacations.

The sound of waves and coquis welcomed us when we arrived in the evening so we didn't see the amazing view until the morning. We certainly were feeling the feels of how amazing the view was and the peacefulness of calm. Getting away from the busy city life was the remedy we needed. Waking up to the sound of waves and zebra doves was amazing. It was fun to see the local birds. The lanai was the place to be but make sure to explore the front yard check out the birds along the bluff. You're gonna say wow!The property is spacious and well maintained. The kitchen is complete with a welcome package of a jug of water, cookies and chocolate in the fridge. It has all you need for cooking or baking. As a tea drinker, thank you for the hot water kettle. There was coffee and creamer to get you started. We did go get our own beans. If you want Kona coffee in the morning, check out Big Island Coffee Roasters. Have them grind a bag for you to make. The bathrooms were comfortable with starter kits shampoo/conditioner/lotion/shower gel. Enough for our group of 3 for 3 days. Being a super smeller, the scents weren't too overpowering. Getting prepared for this trip I did ask if there was any provided because I didn't see it on the details, I received a response pretty quickly.I enjoyed the study with the different books available. I enjoyed looking through the Japanese plant based cookbook. We would love to come back again. Mahalo!

First, the location and the view from this home is spectactular! The waves crashing off of the lava cliffs is beautiful and a reson we always stop through Hilo on a trip to the islands.Unfortunately once you get inside the house the experience changes. The house is clean and safe but looks to be in the same condition today as it was when built many years ago. The amenities are dated and the house needs updated in most ways.A major issue that I had were the excessive fees so please look inot these before booking. The expenses were lumped into two categories, fees and the VRBO fee. The two fees accounted for 86% of the total bill and this did not include taxes, if you include taxes the fees and tax were 117% of the booking fee for the house. Another home we stayed at had a fee ratio of 29% vs the 86% here. I don't know if this is the owners or their rental company but I would either reduce the fees or take some of that money and upgrade the place. It is a beautiful view though!
