Über diese appartement-hotel
Base Camp life done right. Camboose #1 is a warm, pet-friendly 2-bedroom unit at the entrance of Haliburton Forest — your comfortable home base for exploring 100,000 acres of Ontario wilderness.
The two bedrooms each have 2 single beds, sleeping up to 4 guests. Gather in the living area after a day on the trails, and cook your meals in the fully equipped kitchenette: two-burner cooktop, bar-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, kettle, plus all the cookware and dishes you need. A three-piece bathroom and dining area complete the setup. Linens, pillows, facecloths, towels, dish soap and hand soap are all provided.
To be environmentally conscious the units are not supplied with any single use products. Please bring your own coffee (we have filters for the machine), tea, spices, shampoo, conditioner and soap for the shower.
What makes this unit work especially well for families: the single-bed layout is ideal for kids and adults sharing. Need more space? Camboose Units 2 and 3 are right across the hallway — book all three for larger reunions or group getaways.
You're steps from everything at Base Camp: grab supplies at the Camp Store, grab dinner at the Boshkung Smokehouse, or head next door to the Wolf Centre for a close encounter with Haliburton's resident wolf pack. Over 400 kms of trails and gravel roads for hiking, biking, trail running, and access to over 100 lakes for paddling, swimming and fishing, start practically at your door.
Cook smores over a fire at one of our communal firepits, enjoy an outdoor game from our games shed and be sure to test your skills finding our hidden Geocaches!
When planning your trip be sure to book our guided experiences ahead of time: Canopy Tour, Clay Target Shooting, Ice Fishing, Fly Fishing, Tin Boat Fishing and/or one of our many exceptional experiences through Yours Outdoors and the Wolf Centre: Dinner With Wolves, Guided Fishing, Glassblowing, etc.
Don't have your own gear? We rent canoes, bikes, snowshoes AND snowmobiles!
Pets are warmly welcome here.
Whether you're planning a family weekend or a wilderness retreat, Camboose #1 gives you all the comfort of home with the soul of cottage country.
