Some of the nicest people you could meet who are saving an amazing building and doing a fantastic job of keeping all its character. Quality people and an amazing place to stay. Very comfortable beds be careful not to sleep in

The hotel is a grand old pub that has been brought back to much of its former glory. The host, darren, was lovely and helpful, the rooms very large with high ceilings, and the bed comfortable. Being an old hotel, it did not have en suite bathrooms but the shared facilities were good. Despite being near the railway station, it was also in a quiet part of town, which was good for sleeping.
Perhaps when the new iteration is better established, the owners might think of installing en suite bathrooms - there's easily enough space for them. But it would be a LOT of work and no doubt produce a higher price point.

Wonderful and friendly staff - it was like being welcomed to their home. Rooms are beautifully renovated and the hotel has good bones - it's a historic and beautiful old dame of a hotel
The bathroom is shared - not a problem and clearly advertised - but the bathroom could do with some love (and a mirror!). And some shampoo!

Beautiful old building. Clean rooms and common spaces, perfect for group bookings who would like to hang out in the common areas together
If shared amenities (bathroom/kitchenette) aren’t for you.. not the place to book. We found people kept them tidy and were cleaned often.
