Our vacation home was renovated and modernized in 2024 with great attention to detail. “The Comfy Cottage-on-Sea” is idyllically situated on a canal in the beautiful, sprawling Makkum Beach Resort—one of the most beautiful vacation parks in the Netherlands!

Fully equipped for four people—up to two dogs are allowed and welcome—the house is perfect for a relaxing vacation with strolls along the water, varied walks, excursions into the charming surroundings of Friesland, and activities to suit your every whim. From the property’s own boat dock and swimming pier, you can go fishing, jump into the water, or dock a (rented) SUP, paddleboat, or motorboat. Two furnished terraces let you choose whether you’d rather have breakfast in the sun or shade, use the sun lounger, or fire up the Weber kettle grill. The west terrace, including the garden, is fenced in. The east terrace, with the garden facing the canal, is open.

Everyone—both two-legged and four-legged friends—can enjoy the natural surroundings here, which are part of a well-established infrastructure that harmonizes with nature, the open spaces, and the water sports attractions of the IJsselmeer. Large open spaces and many different walking trails starting right from the house ensure that your furry friend gets to enjoy themselves to the fullest.

For all self-employed individuals or anyone who wants to combine work and vacation in the simplest way possible; a fully equipped home office is available here, complete with a height-adjustable desk, office chair, monitor, laptop stand, HDMI cable, keyboard, and mouse… just plug in and get started. Otherwise: close the door and head to the beach.
