Beyond the grass, Sand Pond opens up in front of you. Clear, quiet water in the heart of Maine`s Tacoma Lakes region — swim off the shore, paddle out in a kayak or on a board, cast a line, or bring your own boat and use the public launch just minutes away. Two firepits mean two gathering spots come evening: marshmallows at one, stargazing at the other.

Inside, four bedrooms sleep 8–10 comfortably across two full baths, with cozy gathering rooms and quiet corners so a full house never feels like one. Three mini-splits keep things cool through the warm months, and if you have to check in with work, there`s fast internet and a double-monitor workstation waiting.

When the pond freezes, the setting changes but the fun doesn`t. Skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing happen right out the back door, we keep rods on hand for ice fishing, and Maine`s best downhill slopes are a short drive.

Off the property, the area delivers: tee off at The Meadow`s Golf Club, pour a flight at Grateful Grain Brewery, or catch a performance at the Theatre at Monmouth. Gardiner, Hallowell, Augusta, and Lewiston are all close for shops, galleries, and dinner — Apple Valley Bakery, Doolin`s Pub, The Quarry Tap Room, and The Wood Shed of Maine Cabin Masters fame among them. Gowell`s Shop & Save and Hannaford handle the grocery run.
