Aviation enthusiasts will enjoy a trip to the National Museum of flight (6 miles). Or a day trip to Edinburgh is just 23.5 miles by car or 20 minutes on the train from East Linton station.

As an added bonus, you can even chill bottles and cans in the retro-style drinks fridge to accompany your meals. Afterwards, sink into one of the sofas for some well-deserved down time, or head to the separate lounge, where there’s more soft seating and a Smart TV, ideal for cartoons, a family film or a favourite box set. Anyone with extra energy might want to make their way to the games room, where the multi-games table offers pool, table tennis and air hockey. Also on the ground floor is a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower, a family bathroom and a utility with laundry facilities.
