Summary:

Handmade brick cupolas, colorful Oaxacan tile and a private palapa with ocean views make this single-level 3-bedroom home in El Faro one of the most distinctive stays in Puerto Escondido. Two of the three bedrooms have king beds. The only shared spaces are the garden and a pool used by just six homes. The stairs down to Playa Manzanillo are about 10 minutes on foot. Great for families and groups of friends.



The Space:

All three bedrooms sit around an open-plan living room, dining area and kitchen, and the home is on one level. Only the palapa is up a set of stairs.



Bedrooms: the main bedroom has a king bed, its own bathroom and a handmade brick cupola that keeps the room cool. The second bedroom has a king bed and air conditioning, the only air conditioner in the house. The third bedroom has two twin beds. There are ceiling fans, portable fans and room-darkening shades.



Bathrooms: two full bathrooms with shampoo and a hair dryer.



Kitchen: bright Mexican tile, a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster and coffee maker, plus cookware and a dining table.



Outdoors: the private palapa looks out to the ocean. There's also a sunny terrace by the entry, an outdoor kitchen, a BBQ grill and beach essentials.



Extras: washer and dryer, TV, Wi-Fi and a spot to work on your laptop.



Guest Access:

The whole home is just for you, including the palapa. The only shared areas are the garden and the pool, which six homes share. Secure, gated parking is right outside.



The Neighborhood:

A quiet residential pocket of El Faro, a couple of minutes on foot from Mirador Un Sueño Posible. The stairs down to Playa Manzanillo are about 10 minutes on foot. There are a few restaurants nearby, though not enough to make noise at night, and the Rinconada is about 20 minutes on foot.



Getting Around:

You can call a taxi, walk to the corner of 5a Sur and 3a Poniente to grab one, or walk up to the main road to catch a colectivo. If you're driving, there's secure, gated parking right outside the home and free parking on the street.

Other Things to Note:

We are located in a friendly and welcoming community and, although this is a holiday destination, it's home to other people. As such we ask that you respect their privacy and their right to a peaceful existence! Specifically, between the hours of 10 PM and 8 AM noise should be kept to a minimum. No smoking of any kind. The shared pool is for reserved guests only, please no parties.



Please review the energy usage limitations listed for the property, as additional costs may apply. All guests are required to sign the rental agreement prior to their stay. A secure link will be sent before arrival, and completion is necessary in order to access the property.



Your stay includes 50 kWh of electricity per day. Any usage above this allowance will be charged at $5 MXN per additional kWh. Consumption is monitored daily, and meter readings can be provided upon request or if the limit is exceeded. To help stay within the allowance, we recommend turning off the A/C when leaving the property.



Hurricane season notice



If your stay falls during hurricane season, please be aware that storms can cause power outages in the area. These are outside our control and can happen at short notice. We're not able to offer refunds or partial refunds for power outages or other storm-related disruptions during your stay.



If severe weather or another natural event prevents you from travelling, cancellations will follow the cancellation policy on your booking. We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance that covers weather and natural events, as any claim for costs in that situation would need to go through your insurer.
