Welcome to Timberline Landing, your quiet retreat for North Idaho stays.
Tucked into the Sandpoint/Ponderay area, Timberline Landing is a warm, thoughtfully appointed two-bedroom, two-bath retreat created for travelers who want more than simply a place to sleep. Here, the little things matter: a cozy home to return to after a day on the mountain, coffee and breakfast waiting for your first morning, snacks when you arrive, soft slippers, comfortable spaces to settle in, and thoughtful touches designed to make traveling feel a little easier.
We created Timberline Landing from a place our own family loves spending time, with the hope of giving other families, couples, and friends a comfortable home base for experiencing everything we love about North Idaho.
Whether you're coming for Schweitzer, Lake Pend Oreille, downtown Sandpoint, hiking, biking, skiing, a family getaway, or simply a few quiet days away, Timberline Landing puts you close to it all while giving you a peaceful place to come home to.
THE HOME
At approximately 970 square feet, Timberline Landing is intentionally comfortable rather than oversized—an inviting space for couples, families, and small groups of up to six.
The home includes two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a welcoming living area, full kitchen, dining space, in-home washer and dryer, and smart TVs in the living room and both bedrooms.
Each room has its own thermostat, allowing guests to adjust temperatures for individual comfort. On cool North Idaho evenings, turn on the electric fireplace, settle into the living room, and unwind after a day outside.
Streaming-ready Smart TVs let you sign into your own favorite services, but we hope you'll also find plenty of reasons to put the screens away.
A LITTLE EXTRA WELCOME
We believe the best stays begin before you've even unpacked.
Rather than arriving to an empty vacation rental and immediately needing to make a grocery run, guests at Timberline Landing are welcomed with a few thoughtful provisions to help ease into their stay. You'll find a complimentary first-night pasta dinner basket, along with simple breakfast options for your first morning, including pancakes and oatmeal. We also provide a selection of complimentary snacks and a stocked beverage station with Keurig coffee pods, tea, hot chocolate, cider, creamer, honey, sweeteners and syrups. And because cozy feet make everything better, you'll find complimentary slippers waiting for you as well.These aren't paid add-ons. They're simply part of the Timberline Landing experience.
TRAVELING WITH LITTLE ONES?
We know how much gear comes with traveling with babies and toddlers, so we've tried to make family travel a little lighter. Our complimentary infant and toddler package is available upon request and includes a Pack 'n Play with mattress and linens, toddler dishware, Dreft laundry detergent, infant/toddler bath products, and a child-sized towel and washcloth.
Let us know the ages of the children traveling with you before arrival. We also love leaving age-appropriate surprises for our younger guests—children under 12 may find coloring activities, crayons, kid-friendly snacks, juice or popcorn waiting for them.Families are genuinely welcome here.
LOCATION, LOCATION…AND A LITTLE QUIET
Timberline Landing offers convenient access to both Sandpoint and Ponderay, giving you an excellent home base for exploring North Idaho. You're close to shopping and everyday necessities, while downtown Sandpoint, City Beach and the shores of Lake Pend Oreille are just minutes away.
One of our favorite nearby experiences is the Bayside Trail, a roughly two-mile lakeshore walk that provides a beautiful way to make your way toward City Beach and downtown
Heading to the mountain? Schweitzer is approximately 20 minutes away depending on conditions, and the nearby fairgrounds offer seasonal ski park-and-ride access. That means you can spend the morning skiing or riding, come home to warm up, and head into Sandpoint for dinner—all without sacrificing a peaceful place to end your day.
WINTER AT TIMBERLINE
North Idaho winters are something special.
Spend the day skiing or snowboarding at Schweitzer, explore the area on snowshoes, or simply enjoy the snow-covered landscape before returning home to your own warm retreat.
We arrange professional snow removal during winter conditions and provide a shovel for guests as well.
Parking is limited to the private driveway with space for a maximum of two vehicles. The garage is not available for guest use, and unfortunately we cannot accommodate trailers or RVs.
SUMMER ON LAKE PEND OREILLE
When the snow melts, this area becomes an entirely different kind of playground.
Spend a day at Sandpoint City Beach, rent kayaks or paddleboards, take a cruise on Lake Pend Oreille, book a fishing excursion, hike or bike the surrounding trails, or head up Schweitzer for summer mountain activities.
Lake Pend Oreille is spectacular—and enormous. Guests interested in getting out on the water can find kayak, paddleboard and pontoon options around the lake, along with beaches and recreation areas including Farragut State Park.
Schweitzer also offers warm-weather activities including hiking, mountain biking and scenic mountain experiences.
Then come home, kick off your shoes, make dinner, and plan tomorrow's adventure.

Sandpoint has a fantastic independent food scene, and we've created a curated digital guide for our guests with local recommendations for coffee, breakfast, dinner, cocktails, desserts, outdoor adventures and more.
A few favorites include Panhandle Cone & Coffee for a sweet stop, Arlo's for Italian and pizza, The Pie Hut for a wonderfully local experience (bring cash!), and The Bank for craft cocktails in a beautifully restored historic bank building.
You'll receive access to our guest guide so you don't have to spend your vacation scrolling through endless search results wondering where to go.
DESIGNED FOR REAL LIFE
We've tried to anticipate the practical things that make a stay easier, too.
You'll have access to an in-home washer and dryer, with detergent and dryer sheets provided. Towels are stocked in the bathrooms, with additional linens available in the bedroom closets.
The kitchen includes the essentials for preparing meals at home, and basic household supplies such as dish detergent and trash bags are provided.
Self check-in makes arrival simple. You'll receive a unique code for the smart lock before your stay, so there are no keys to pick up and no coordinating arrival times.
Check-in is at 4:00 PM and checkout is at 11:00 AM.
GOOD TO KNOW
Timberline Landing is a peaceful residential retreat, and we ask guests to help us keep it that way.
Quiet hours are 9:00 PM–7:00 AM. We kindly ask guests not to move furniture and prefer shoes be removed inside, particularly during North Idaho's wetter and snowier months.
For everyone's safety, candles and open flames are not permitted.
The garage and one designated storage/housekeeping area are not available to guests.
The property has exterior security monitoring, including a Ring doorbell/camera. There are no interior cameras.
Exterior Security Camera: One Ring video doorbell is located at the front entrance and may record video and audio of the exterior entryway, including arrivals and departures. It is not continuously monitored. Alerts are used for guest and property security. No indoor cameras are present.
