Built in 1854, the historic John S. Love House offers comfort and character in the heart of Jacksonville. The past meets the present in this beloved registered landmark with original windows, floors, and architecture. Find the viewing ports that reveal the original construction method of the walls, or the old signature etched in a pane of glass. The cozy loft above the detached garage is lined with the redwood beams from the original Carriage House that once stood in its place; the tin on its roof is original, purveyed by Jacksonville’s “Tin Man” John S. Love. Feel the generations that have cherished these walls, and visit the nearby library, city hall, or historical society to learn more about the Love’s legacy. Located just half a block from downtown and 4 blocks from the Britt Pavilion, you’ll have walking access to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, boutiques, groceries, post office, library, hiking trails and live entertainment. Both buildings are equipped with central heat and AC, and there are smart TVs in the living room and every bedroom for your entertainment. The spacious 1550 sq. ft. house is enhanced with high ceilings, expansive yards, and tall trees. The main house can sleep up to four; a large primary bedroom boasts a king bed, gas fireplace, and attached full bath with both soaking tub and shower. The sunny guest bedroom with queen bed and additional full bathroom are accessed off the living room. Lounge on the bench swing and chairs on the front covered porch, and enjoy the lush lawns and gardens of the private backyard, complete with dining table, adirondack chairs, hammock, waterfall fountain and pond. The living room has a gas fireplace and comfortable sofas, and a separate sunroom with a desk provides a private work or rest area. The charming kitchen is equipped with any modern amenities and appliances you may need, and the dining room has lots of seating, a game table and an attached laundry room. Sleep up to two (2 twin beds) in the A-frame loft above the detached Carriage House, with full bath, mini fridge, Keurig, and microwave. Thgis listting is only for the A-Frame Studio.
