Über diese apartment dieses Ferienunterkunft
Welcome to Honua Kai Resort & Spa, an oceanfront resort on Kaanapali North Beach in West Maui. Your reservation includes two private 2-bedroom, 2-bath condos: four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two full kitchens, two living rooms and two lanais with ocean views, with beds for 8 guests and a sofa sleeper in each living room. Guests enjoy the full Honua Kai resort, with multiple pools, hot tubs, BBQ areas, a kids' area with fountains, a fitness center, the Ho'ola Spa, the Aina Gourmet Market and Duke's Beach House restaurant right on the sand.
What we guarantee: Both condos are always inside Honua Kai Resort & Spa. Condo 1 is a 2-bedroom condo and Condo 2 is a 2-bedroom condo, with exactly the beds listed below in every bedroom. Condo 1 is an oceanfront condo with ocean views wrapping around its lanai; Condo 2's lanai has ocean and mountain views. Both homes are kept to the same quality standard, with finishes similar to what you see in these photos. If we ever could not deliver that, you would approve the alternative first or receive a full refund.
Bed types: Condo 1 - Master Bedroom: King; Bedroom 2: King (can be set up as 2 twins). Living room sofa bed; Condo 2 - Master Bedroom: King; Bedroom 2: King (can be set up as 2 twins on request). Living room queen sofa sleeper.
Each condo has two king bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, so all four bedrooms sleep 2 guests in a king bed and the group of 8 never has to share a bath. The second bedroom in each condo can be set up as two twin beds, ideal for kids or friends, and each living room has a sofa sleeper.
Good to know before you book: each condo has its own front door and its own entry details, so the two halves of the group keep their own schedules. Honua Kai charges a nightly resort fee per unit, paid directly to the resort; the details are in the notes below. There is a 4-night minimum, with check-in from 3 PM and check-out by 11 AM.
The Space:
Condo 1 (2BR oceanfront): Condo 1 is an oceanfront condo with a large lanai where ocean views wrap around two sides, and a private BBQ on the lanai for sunset dinners. The primary suite has a king bed, the second bedroom has a king bed that can be set up as two twins, and both bedrooms have their own bathroom. There is a sofa bed in the living room. It has air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. It sleeps 4 in beds.
Condo 2 (2BR ocean and mountain view): Condo 2 has ocean and mountain views from its oversized lanai, and both bedrooms open onto it, a rare layout at the resort. It was renovated with porcelain tile floors and fresh furniture, and full-width folding glass walls open the great room to the covered lanai so the inside and outside become one space. The lanai has a dining table with chairs and two lounge chairs with ottomans, perfect for watching the sunrise over the West Maui Mountains and the sunset over the ocean. The kitchen has granite counters and Bosch stainless steel appliances. The primary bedroom has a king bed and a bathroom with a double vanity, a glass-walled walk-in shower and a separate soaking tub. The second bedroom has a king bed that can be two twins on request, and the living room has a queen sofa sleeper. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer, and flat-screen TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. It sleeps 4 in beds.
The resort: Honua Kai Resort & Spa sits right on Kaanapali North Beach, with landscaped grounds stretching to the sand. Guests share multiple pools and hot tubs, BBQ areas, a kids' area with fountains and a fitness center. The Ho'ola Spa offers treatments on site, the Aina Gourmet Market makes it easy to stock both kitchens without leaving the resort, and Duke's Beach House serves island-style meals right by the beach. Both condos are within Honua Kai Resort & Spa, so the whole group shares the same pools, beach and resort amenities.
Two condos rather than one large house give a group the best of both worlds: everyone gathers at the pool, on the beach or around the barbecue, and then each family or couple has its own kitchen, living room and lanai to retreat to, so early risers and night owls never get in each other's way.
Guest Access:
Your reservation includes the private interiors of both condos, each with its own front door and its own entry details, plus the Honua Kai resort amenities: multiple pools, hot tubs, BBQ areas, a kids' area with fountains, a fitness center, the Ho'ola Spa, the Aina Gourmet Market and Duke's Beach House restaurant.
The Neighborhood:
Honua Kai sits at the quiet northern end of Kaanapali, where Kaanapali North Beach runs between the main Kaanapali resort area and the laid-back Honokowai neighborhood. The beach in front of the resort is a long stretch of golden sand for morning walks, swimming on calm days and watching the sunset over the ocean in the evening.
Drive a few minutes south and you reach Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village, with resort dining, shopping, the Kaanapali golf courses and the beachfront walkway. Black Rock, at the north end of Kaanapali Beach, is one of West Maui's best-known snorkeling spots. A few minutes north, Honokowai Beach Park has a playground, picnic tables, showers and calm water, and the Honokowai farmers market sits across the road from it. Times Supermarket in Honokowai is a full grocery stop for bigger shopping runs, and casual restaurants and coffee shops line Lower Honoapiilani Road.
Farther north, Kapalua has its bays, world-class golf and the Kapalua Coastal Trail, and Napili Bay, a sheltered cove popular for snorkeling and spotting green sea turtles, is on the way. Honolua Bay, known for summer snorkeling and winter surf, is beyond Kapalua.
Whale season runs through the winter, and the channel between Maui, Molokai and Lanai is one of the best places in Hawaii to watch humpbacks from shore. Day trips to the summit of Haleakala and the Road to Hana are easy to plan from West Maui.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport (OGG), Maui's main airport, is about 50 minutes by car from the Kaanapali area, and Kapalua Airport, which serves interisland flights, is a short drive north. A car is the easiest way to explore West Maui and the rest of the island, and parking is included with your stay. Duke's Beach House, the Aina Gourmet Market, the spa and the beach are all on property, and Kaanapali, Honokowai and Kapalua are each a short drive along Lower Honoapiilani Road and the Honoapiilani Highway. Rideshare services operate on Maui and can handle airport runs and evenings out.
