A warm home on two floors, full of art on the walls and books on the shelves, with the kitchen at its centre. Our quiet residential street in Laugardalur makes an ideal home base for exploring Iceland, and a place to recharge afterwards.
Laugardalur is Reykjavík's main recreation area. Within a five-minute walk you'll find Laugardalslaug, the city's largest swimming pool; World Class Laugar, a large gym with a spa; the Family Park and Zoo, with its petting zoo and small amusement park; an indoor ice-skating rink; and plenty of green space, with paths for walking, running and cycling that wind through the valley and all around the city. Restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and an ice cream shop are all within walking distance.
Downtown is a 30-minute walk (2.5 km to Hallgrímskirkja), or 5–10 minutes by bus from a stop about 100 m from the house. The Hlemmur food hall and bus stop is 1.7 km away, a 22-minute walk.
