Villa Lorena - Country House in Valdarno, Tuscany
Villa Lorena ist ein schönes Haus in der Landschaft von Arezzo, in dem kleinen Dorf Pieve San Giovanni, etwa 10 km von Arezzo entfernt.
Obwohl in einem Dorf gelegen, bietet diese Struktur die Ruhe der Landschaft dank eines großen Gartens, der mit einem schönen Pavillon und einem Swimmingpool (oberirdisch) ausgestattet ist, der die umliegenden Hügel überblickt. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist komfortabel. Das Grundstück ist komplett eingezäunt.
Etwa 4 km entfernt liegt Ponte Buriano, eine Stadt am Ufer des Flusses Arno, deren alte Brücke im Hintergrund von Leonardo da Vincis berühmtestem Gemälde dargestellt ist: La Gioconda.
Von der nahe gelegenen Stadt Arezzo aus können Sie mit dem Zug wichtige Städte wie Florenz, Orvieto und Rom bequem erreichen.
Zur Verfügung der Gäste: Garten mit Pavillon, ausgestattet mit Tisch, Stühlen und eingebautem Grill, oberirdisches (eingezäuntes) Schwimmbad zur ausschließlichen Nutzung der Gäste mit Holzterrasse (8 x 4 m - Tiefe 1,2 m).

The place is really nice very close to Arezzo and to lots of places around Toscana. It was big for all the couples to be able to have their own bedrooms and bathrooms. Big kitchen with all the appliances that we needed.

We had a wonderful time in villa lorena. The house is spacious, the garden and pool bigger than expected and you find everything you need there. You have a great Pavillon and everything is very private. Also the hosts were friendly and helpful when we needed them.

An amazing house with better veiw than on pictures. The house was fantastic, great bedrooms and living spaces. Garden and pool is amazing and bigger than I thought. The host is really easy to communicate with and very helpful in every way. It was clean and well organized! I recommend this house for a peaceful cosy stay in Toscany!

Let me start off by saying the hosts ( a couple that lives 45 minutes away and their son studying in university in another city) are great. They can speak English ( the son), French ( the mother) and Italian ( all 3). Very responsive and they want to please.
The state of the villa is ok. The walls are generally scuffed and dirty and the bathrooms would probably benefit from a refresh. In particular the showers which are tiny and tend to be...very used.The view is mostly visible from the second floor but it's still quite authentic. The pool is an out of ground attachment its quite refreshing given the heat and limited AC.
The house would also benefit from a more complete cleaning. Recognizing its in the country side, it's filled with spiders of all sizes, ants ( including the t.o ground level rooms and beds) and scorpions!
4 out of the 5 rooms has functioning AC but the hosts controlled it at a distance. They generally opened it on time when we requested it ( we proposed a fixed schedule to simplify things)
The location was interesting, loads of ascending and descending roads. In the immediate village, there's a small pizzeria, reservations were preferred for groups larger than 2-3. About ten minutes aways there was another restaurant called Buon Riposo, its larger and reservations weren't required.
In summary, it's a nice place with great folks that run it but it needs love.
Would I rent it knowing what I know now? yes bit not at the price we paid.
