il n'y avait pas de petit déjeuner le matin, j'y allais pour pouvoir déjeuner avant d'aller travailler, ce n'est pas la premiere fois que ça arrive...je n'ai pas eu d'eau chaude le matin dans la douche et la lumiere de la salle de bain clignotait tout le temps. la ventilation est tellement bruyante que j'ai dû l'éteindre avant de me coucher...

Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of the old city. Everything exactly as stated/pictured but better. Very quiet and comfortable room, the spa was amazing and drinks on the terrace a great escape. The staff weee super helpful and friendly.

We’have travelled to many locations and without exception, Place dArmes was the most comfortable and inviting hotel we’ve have stayed in .. the location is excellent, many restaurants and sires nearby. The street is quiet. The hotel is well maintained and very clean, the beds very comfortable with great linens, the room large and well-appointed but the biggest asset of this hotel is its incredible staff. They quietly went out of their way to assist and and as a result, made our stay memorable. Thank you.

The front desk staff and the restaurant maitre de went out their way. Lovely reuse of old buildings. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Central location.

The room, with a view out to a park, was wonderful. In fact, everything was. But what really made the experience was how the staff (particularly Alex) dealt with my check-in issue.

We'd asked for information and/or arrangements for parking our oversized van ahead of time. It's too tall for garages, and we know that downtowns can be tricky. The hotel replied something to the effect of "no guarantees because you won't fit in our garage, but our valets should be able to direct you to something suitable when you get there. The valet suggested two (very tiny) lots that were full; downtown was extremely crowded at the time, so the suggestion to come back to the hotel and try again if those didn't work out was unrealistic. As it was, we ended up driving back to the airport to park, and taking a taxi to return. We understand about the parking, but knowing ahead of time would have saved us nearly 3 hours of aggravating traffic, finding a parking spot (not easy on a busy weekend on the day, instead of knowing to do it ahead of time), and then finding a taxi back to town. That was unacceptable. One option to respond to our query ahead of time would have been simply to say "this Sunday in downtown Montreal is extremely unlikely to have suitable parking unless you reserve ahead with (whatever) app, if one is available, or we can guarantee you the slot for an additional fee by parking in our ourselves. The only other realistic option was to suggest we arrange for parking in some other part of the city where there is suitable protected parking, such as one of the airports. However, when we finally made it back to the hotel, Alex indicated this was completely unacceptable (validating a customer's feelings is worthwhile), and comped us breakfast for the stay. Not a huge expense, especially since we shared a single item for breakfast each morning. But what a difference -- the check in experience would absolutely have affected our rating, but the reaction more than made up for it.

Very clean and in a great location. The service staff, including housekeepers, were kind and professional.

No room service menu in the rooms. No elevator to the rooftop bar so it was really disappointing since I couldn’t walk all the stairs.

With a big restaurant and terrace on the ground floor as well as a rooftop terrace on the eighth floor the place could get quite crowded and restless. The service on the terrace was poor although the food was OK.

The location, spacious room, and delicious fruit infused water every day right next to the elevator.

The valet dropping my laptop at departure as he was putting things in my car. The towels were not thick and plush. The sidewalk restaurant food was awful and one expects gourmet with the price. The shower gels and shampoo were masculine scented.

Location and staff were very friendly.

We enjoyed the property the only issue was that we had to move from our room which was beautiful with old decor and high ceilings and bright as the air conditioner was leaking to what they said was a upgrade but was modern and dark.

I thought the location was excellent, close to all of the old buildings from yesteryear and then a nice brisk walk into Saint Laurent and Saint Denis. The bathrooms in the room were also super beautiful.
