Bayview Hotel

We arrived early from Nanaimo after taking the first ferry from Horseshoe Bay. We had never been to the area, and were unsure where we were going. The drive there was lovely however we were all quite ill with bad headcolds, and were very tired, so we were so thankful we were able to get into our room early, thank you so much for the excellent accomodation.

The hottub was alright but there were no jets, the swimming pool was too cold but it was nice that it was not crowded - also the breakfast ends too early. If the rooms are comfortable, nobody wants to get up early just to have a mediocre breakfast - please think about changing this, alot of hotels are doing this, and it takes away from the experience, having to drag out of bed before 9:30 AM - we pay enough for the rooms, and all the added BS fees - that is alot of money to pay just to sleep. I am quite displeased with this new trend of closing the "free breakfast" early so that people don't get to have any food. We're paying premium fees for not much in return.

Very good

The beds were very comfortable and the room/bathroom was clean. Location was perfect, close to everything we needed to do. Was also nice to be able to have GF bread with breakfast, an option that is hard to find with complimentary breakfast.

With the complimentary coffee in the room, as there was more than one person in the room, would have been nice to have a few more pods in the room. We just ended up heading downstairs for our second cup.

Staff was courteous and helpful. Suite was well equipped (hair dryer, iron & ironing board, toiletries). Included breakfast was adequate, but not exceptional.

The sofa bed DID NOT HAVE FRESH LINENS. Disgusting. It was too late at night when we discovered this. I had to sleep in soiled sheets. Staff were appalled and embarassed at checkout, offered modest compensation.
