Great room with 2 double beds. Nice breakfast and dinner Very friendly staff. Perfect location to discover the city.

Absolutely everything was wonderful. The location is perfect - essentially downtown but set back enough that the location is also very quiet. The atmosphere is very homely with all staff encountered being warm, friendly and helpful, but never intrusive - just the right mix of service and friendliness that lets you know they're always there for you if needed. I feel also that the layout of the hotel - a small footprint with lifts being close to and in clear sight of reception, is a big bonus in adding a great sense of security for anyone who may be travelling alone, or simply want to be reassured regarding access to the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable in all respects, and for a small nightly addition of $8 was on a higher floor. Though the view was largely nearby high rises, it's to be expected given it's located downtown, and was nonetheless nice to have. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast or dining available, but took advantage of the Starbucks conveniently located outside at street level, as well as other coffee outlets a short walk away. Public transport is also close by, including the Corona LRT station on the corner, so not having a car was not an issue. I will certainly stay at The Matrix again, next time I am in Edmonton. It is wonderful to find somewhere that not only lives up to expectations but does so in a way that combines professionalism with the sense of being a home away from home.

The location is excellent if going to a concert. Clean rooms.

Make sure to stock up on snacks or plan to order in if you want anything to eat later in the evening, the restaurant closes at 10pm and there is no vending machines or concessions to purchase. The pillows were horrible and lumpy.
