Hilton Columbus at Easton

The location of this hotel in Easton is fantastic. It's within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. The lobby is impressive and bright and there's plenty of parking. Sandra at the front desk was very friendly during check-in and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. In fact, all of the staff we interacted with were helpful. The breakfast buffet was tasty with an omelet station and both hot and cold options to choose from.

There are several areas where this Hilton Easton can improve. One of the elevators was out of order, which made the wait for the only - exceptionally slow - working elevator a bit lengthy. Not a deal breaker, just a minor inconvenience. The mattress on the bed was uncomfortable and had a definite valley. I'd expected more from Hilton in terms of mattress comfort. There wasn't a blow drier in the bathroom, something that's generally a pretty standard feature. Finally, the walls are very thin. I could hear the neighboring room's conversations when they were speaking at a reasonable volume. Overall, our stay was nice, but with the reputation of Hilton Hotels, I'd expected a bit more.

The staff did the bare minimum, not rude but not friendly, hardly made eye contact. It was a far cry from the “go above and beyond” attitude that used to be the norm for the staff at this hotel. The hotel itself felt pretty run down and didn’t look like it’s been super well cared for, unfortunately. I used to come here a lot when the hotel was new. This was my first time visiting in 15 years and I was so excited, but unfortunately it was a bit of a let down. For the 4 star classification this hotel has, I expected better (like it used to be). I do not feel that the price was even remotely worth what you get in exchange. The room smelled bad, the bed was weird, the bathroom had hair in it. Big disappointment, especially since this was a splurge for us after a loss in our family.
