Accommodated our early arrival. Room was nice and quiet.
Breakfast was very nicely presented, had the standard items, plus a few unexpected oatmeal and waffle toppings.
Location was perfect base for access to sightseeing. The PHILLY PHLASH tourist buses are very convenient in season and free for seniors.
Desk gave a very good taxi recommendation.
People loitering around the side streets after dark was a little disconcerting when walking alone. Restaurants in the area seem kind of dirty.

Hotel is within blocks of the museums and attractions in the old city. Very walkable even on a rainy day! I also used the Philly PHLASH to bring me to other places in Philadelphia. The bus stop is close to the hotel and can't beat the $5 all day price to hop on and off on the downtown route.

This is indeed a historic building, and the architecture in the part of Philly is beautiful. But step inside and this is a tired old hotel.
There’s nothing boutique about this hotel. Plain and uninspired. My room was small, though it did have a high ceiling. Window looked out on other dirty windows and a narrow alley space. Not much light.
