HI Calgary City Centre - Hostel

My stay at HI Calgary City Centre was absolutely fantastic, and the property exceeded my expectations in every way! 🇨🇦✨ The location is excellent, making it easy to get around Calgary and explore the city. Having grocery stores within close proximity was a huge plus, especially for budget-conscious travellers who prefer to prepare their own meals. Public transportation is also conveniently accessible, making it easy to move around without needing to spend extra money on taxis. Beyond the location, the overall property offered a great hostel experience. It’s an excellent option for solo travellers and backpackers looking for convenience, comfort and opportunities to meet fellow travellers. Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Everything came together to make my stay enjoyable, convenient and better than I had anticipated. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Calgary! Great location, excellent convenience and fantastic value for travellers. 🇨🇦❤️

The hostel is conveniently located near the train station, a large supermarket, and several tour meeting points, making it very easy to get around and join tours. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The 24-hour front desk is also a big plus.

The main downside is that the power outlets are mostly located near the lower bunk beds, so there are almost no outlets for guests staying on the upper bunks. Also, as with any shared dorm, noise or guests who are unwell can sometimes affect the experience.

- Furniture is getting old - No outlets near the bed - not possible to charge your phone during the night - In my room, lights were off from 10 pm to after 8 am. I had to use a flashlight the whole time and organize my stuff outside the room because the room was not that spacious and there was no light - The room was smelly - No curtains next to each bed for privacy - I booked my stay several months in advance, asked for a bottom bunk and in the end it was not available
