The resort itself is in a beautiful location, especially with the view of the mountains and from the peaks towards Georgian Bay, and the hotel is arranged as a charming and picturesque village which makes it feel rather cozy, despite the obviously touristy trappings. The suites are spacious and comfortable, if a little dated in places. The heated outdoor pool was a nice addition, even in late September. There are a lot of options for people who like various active/ adventuring type of activities, such as rock climbing, zip-lining, canopy walking, etc., aside from the obvious winter sports of skiing and snowboarding. As a caveat, some of these are appropriate for children, but mostly for the 10+ or 13+ crowd. When we visited the water park was closed so I cannot comment on it.
These are minor notes, but I was surprised to see restaurent prices well in excess of better equivalents in Toronto. I guess that’s part of the whole “resort” thing but honestly if I’m paying 30$ for 3 tacos I expect at least that the tacos are well above average… Another point was the upkeep in the room. It was clean and tidy, but the grout on the wall tiles in the shower had mould on it and so did the bottom of the shower curtain, and I feel like 300$/night should be sufficient to get rooms with clean grout. The carpets in the hallways have also seen better days. Hotels get a lot of wear and tear, but these are fairly easy maintenance details that go a long way to leave a good impression. Finally, there’s just not that much to do with a toddler (27 months)—there’s one playground, it’s ok but a bit limited, and she could explore the bottom layer of the cocoon crawl, but that’s about it.

The location is really good, right in the middle of the Village, with easy access to shopping, dining, and activities. Check in and check out were both quick and easy.
The elevator was quite old and slow, and since there was only one, it was a little inconvenient going back and forth to the parking area. For the price, I also felt the room was missing a few basic amenities. I found it inconvenient that there were no slippers provided, so make sure to bring your own essentials like slippers, a comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Also, don’t forget to bring some drinking water and snacks, as those aren’t provided either. One thing that was especially disappointing was that there was no smart TV. For a 3 day, 2 night trip, we definitely missed having one. We basically only came back to the room to shower and sleep, and that was about it.
