The inn was lovely, the room was spacious and clean with a great view of the colorful fall foliage. The location was close to downtown Stowe. The staff was very personable and engaging. They had great information to share about the property and surrounding areas. There were many activities to take part in. We had a lovely time. As a Sound of Music fan, it was very interesting to hear about the real life of the von Trapps.
I wished there was an opportunity to watch the Sound of Music movie. It was fall with a crisp to the air but wished there was an opportunity to have s'mores around a fire pit. The price of the stay was a bit much.

A great experience- room was large.
Plenty to do while on the property and only a short drive into Stowe
Bed was a little uncomfortable and pillows were horrible. Flat and did nothing to support head/neck (personal opinion) as others may like this.
Staff were not as welcoming as other places we have visited recently……for the type of accomodation it is and cost I was expecting more friendliness.
In saying that the porter and the gentleman who was welcoming patrons to the restaurant/lounge on our first night were the the most friendly and made us feel welcomed.

The location is beautiful and the grounds are outstanding. The hotel is old and majestic and better than what I had expected. The room was very clean and well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Very friendly staff. Our dinner in the dining room was excellent and a good value.
It was quite pricey but worth it, all things considered. The breakfast buffet (not included) was expensive and when we were there a little before 9 AM, things were picked over….no spoons left for cereal, oatmeal was gone, breads/pastries needed to be refreshed. They just need to pay more attention to the entire buffet in my opinion, and keep it looking fresh and well stocked.
