Best Western Plus Palm Court Hotel

Great location. Lovely room with a suite. Room 209. Would stay here again without question. Nice cafe on ground floor but pricey. Very nice lighting and big mirror over vanity unit with light surround. Great. The bed was super comfy. Housekeeping comes in every day to change towels and bedding if needs be. Very clean carpet.

Security felt lax. It’s possible to enter parking garage from street and then access the elevator to floors above. So theoretically anyone could break into the guests room. The housekeeper had door propped fully open when I had to return to the room one day. She was making bed but I wandered into the sitting area first totally undetected by her and could easily have left with our cases and anything lying around - elevator round corner - down to parking garage and out of hotel without anyone noticing. I think the elevator should be protected by a key pass so only guests can gain access. The maid was wearing ear pods so wouldn’t have heard an intruder either.

The staff was professional and friendly in accommodating my requests. The room was clean and spacious. Great location, close to many restaurants, cafes, etc. I appreciated being able to schedule room service. Overall, a comfortable stay.

Updating the AC units would be a great idea.

While the room was over all nice and property in a great location, my overall experience was significantly impacted by a few key issues. The room was nicely appointed, but unfortunately, a major problem with the window made for a very poor night's sleep. The window was stuck in an open position and could not be closed, leaving me exposed to excessive noise throughout the night. My room overlooked the dumpster area, so I was woken up early by the sound of trash collection. Just when I thought I could go back to sleep, the noise from a passing train disrupted me again. This is an issue that should have been caught by housekeeping and addressed by maintenance before a guest checked in. It’s unacceptable to have a window that cannot be shut, especially in a location with known noise disturbances. The check-in experience was also disappointing. The front desk associate working on the evening of February 24 did not acknowledge me upon arrival, did not make eye contact, and remained on the phone without letting me know he would assist me shortly. I waited about 10 minutes before receiving any attention, which did not make for a welcoming first impression. On the other hand, the staff member working in the morning was excellent—friendly, professional, and helpful. While the hotel has positives, the combination of a poor check-in experience and a terrible night’s sleep due to the window issue really overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable stay. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and ensures that maintenance and customer service are given proper attention moving forward.
