Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton

Our room was spacious, very comfortable, was located on the first floor & overlooked the beach! I loved the location! We had a small microwave, mini fridge and bar area. We had two bathrooms which was actually very convenient. The ice machine was close by which was also nice.

Our 2 night stay was probably during one of the hottest few days of the entire year but, unfortunately, the hotel air conditioning could not handle the 102-103+F degree heat wave. Our room air conditioner ran full blast non-stop the entire 2 days we were there. The air was cool coming out of the vents but it was so excessively humid the room never really cooled down below high 70's during the day and mid 70's at night. That was certainly better than the outdoor temps but not quite cool enough to be comfortable. Our NesCafe coffee maker are on it's last leg. We did manage to get a cup of coffee out of it after 4 or 5 attempts but it leaked. We had our small dog with us this trip. The one aspect I don't like about "pet rooms" in hotels is that often the carpeting is stained. This room's carpeting was not terrible but it was not perfect either. I did see a few unidentifiable stains. I don't know what it was. We keep our home and our dog very clean. I wish we could find the same level of unstained carpet cleanliness in hotel rooms when we travel with our little dog.

Location of ocean view room was wonderful. And it was quiet, no boom boxes or parties on the beach at least mid week when we were there. Window open so could hear the surf all night.

Little things could have gone a long way. There is a dining table, bar sink, microwave and small fridge but no bar towel, cutlery, paper towels, or dishes. Lightweight paper cups for coffee when mugs would have been nice.

Right on the beach, clean and felt luxurious.
