Comfortable Tom with a great staff. The home baked for breakfast was a real treat

great location, very nice and helpful owner.
Rooms are a little dated but it goes with the the property’s charm

Able to book a room for two nights just a few days before July 4th weekend, so that was much appreciated, as everything else in the area was booked. Exactly as advertised and expected. A true throwback to the 1950s, right down to the pink and green decor. Nice to have kitchenette and coffee maker. Motel was quiet, felt private, enough above the highway so that noise at night was minimal.
"Ocean view" from room very limited and not very practical given the need to keep blinds down for privacy. Also, "free breakfast" consisted of baked goods delivered the night before ... they were very nicely baked, but no substitute for a real breakfast.

Beautiful location. Beautiful grounds. Close to Camden.

Very disappointing experience.
The room is located on the main road so you can hear every car passing.
Although breakfast is included, we were surprised to see that the "breakfast" is one piece of muffin and pumpkin cake for two people. Please remove the "breakfast included" from your listing or start having breakfast again.
In addition, the owner, who checked us in, pretty much told us that we planned this trip wrong as we should have spanned more time in the area instead of just stopping on the way to Acadia.
Great customer service, right? 🤔👎

Very friendly staff, great home-made baked items for breakfast

wonderful home-baked goods delivered to our door the night before. cleanest and best kept we've ever stayed in. beautifully landscaped and decorated.
can't do much about this but build a ramp; steps to rooms very difficult with health problems but they take you around in a golf cart.

Nice property. Accommodated 5 of us (3 rooms). Beds were a little stiff and pillows rather dead. But, convenient and value rated for the quick 1 day Labor Day holiday stay as we sampled the Maine coastline from Portland to Bar Harbor.

In addition to baked goods for breakfast, I felt that protein items could have been added to the breakfasts bags left hanging on doorknobs the night before, since social gathering in the office/home was limited due to Covid. It might of been nice to do this, by adding small soft cooler bags with handles to hang on doors with yogurt and fresh fruit options. Perhaps option selections could be asked of guest at check-in so as to avoid waste.
Or do not offer breakfast because this can hardly be called breakfast! Also, we would have liked a fire in the firepit and were refused when asked, for reasons that did not seem valid to us. The water also had a bad smell and taste, didn't want to drink or bathe in it! Apparently, something to do with drought issues in the area, affecting the well. Owners very nice and room was clean but they really encourage cash payments. Asked for AARP discount but was told that because I booked through this site, even if I paid at the Inn, they would not offer the 30% discount they stated they normally give.

nothing.
Two pieces of bread inside a Walmart grocery bag was hung from our door knob the night before the breakfast morning for breakfast!!!!. The bed sit was torn. No hanger for garments to hang.etc.

Great location. Great price! Hostess had many great outing suggestions. Cute gazebo out back, very relaxing.
Due to covid, the morning breakfast was baked goods left at the door. We missed the interaction with others ..

The pastries were fresh, home made, but no other choices.I like coming to a nook at least. These were hung in a bag on your door.
I thought it was a Inn,not a motel.

The rooms were clean and nice and I was pleased with the accomodations.
Don't count on breakfast being anything exciting. Even with Covid restrictions what was provided could be improved on...no juice for example. The baked goods ( a muffin and piece of nut bread) were just average and that was all breakfast consisted of.
A little better communication would help. For example, ice was not available unless the owner unlocked the machine, again due to Covid. Certainly understandable but there was nothing in the room or that I saw posted that said, Please go the office.
Covid has made life difficult and it shows a bit...there is no room service because of staffing issues but I would have expected to at least had the coffee replenished when staying more than one night.

The proprietors— Eddie, Christine and Dale—were all wonderful, friendly, helpful and accommodating!
Eddie’s suggestions and assistance was priceless! He gave us excellent dinner suggestions and set reservations for us—including arrangements for dinner for our family after a funeral.
I also, unfortunately, needed to have brake work done on my car. Eddie recommended a great place and contacted the manager for me.
Our room had a lovely view of the harbor. There are many comfortable sitting areas on the property as well.
I definitely plan to return and highly recommend Mount Battie.
Everything was wonderful

The hosts were wonderful and the homemade breakfast was soooo delicious!
4.2
The view from the hotel was a great view of the bay. It was conveniently located near Camden and Rockland.
No inside eating for breakfast....hard boiled eggs, homemade baked goods, toast, one fruit, coffee... no knives to spread butter - not quite what we expected at this price. The room was sufficient in size but the bathroom was dated, mold on the walls, extremely uncomfortable to use, ancient shower head hanging out of the wall, towels the size of napkins, and the smallest soap bar I have ever encountered with the cheapest shampoo packets that were unusable - we fortunately always bring our own. The bed was like "grandma's" ...i.e. not in the least comfortable. Very disappointed for the price....but this may be typical for the area. I am not sure how Bookings calculates ratings, because there is no way mathematically that it was a 4.2!!
