Location, convenience of being able to cook as we had a full kitchen, and the staff is the best!

The location of The Lakeview Inn & Cottages was really nice. It was within walking distance to Weirs Beach and the Boardwalk with all the little restaurants & shops. The Inn's staff were very sweet, personable, and accommodating if we needed an iron, extra towels, or an extra blanket & pillow. The area was filled with many tourist-friendly destinations like Fun Spot, the Kellarhaus (ice cream), and many others.
I really wanted to love this place, but I was disappointed with the cottage we stayed in. It was very small for a 2-bedroom cottage. The only thing in the bedrooms was the bed and two tiny nightstands with wall sconces and a ceiling fan for lighting. Yes, there was a well-stocked kitchen, but we hardly used it because the cottage was so small. There were no closets or shelves for any type of unpacking or storage. We lived out of suitcases for the time we were there. It was cramped for a family of three. There was a small view of the lake from the kitchen window. The most disappointing thing about our stay was the incredible loudness of the road in front of our cottage. We were right on the main road (Tower St.) and from 5 a.m. to well past midnight, you could hear loud motorcycles, racing cars, garbage trucks, and construction vehicles. It was not a quiet, peaceful vacation that we were hoping for.

Very friendly staff; made us feel special! Loved the personal touch and Janet’s homemade muffins in the morning. Perfect location, close to the boardwalk, beach and restaurants. Nice pool. Just a great experience…we’ll be back.

The beds were comfortable. Full sized fridge.
The electricity excuse. Maintenance man came in and did exactly what the employee told us they had tried on the LIVING room main light, and ALL of the lights worked. Parking was for 1 car. For the price I paid, location was there, but overall cottage was not up to what my party had hoped.

wonderful location, walkable to the main high street and to a local pub. very kind manager who was very patient with us when our card wouldn’t work!

The shower/toilet was super small. We received a smaller room compared to the one we booked online. We had to self check in and no one was at the location to help us get another room or cottage.

We had a beautiful view of the lake. The host was very welcoming and knowledgeable and it was in an excellent location.
I hadn’t realised that the bathrooms were shared - not a bit problem but could have been more obvious when booking.

Janet and Joe are amazing hosts who made us feel like family from the moment we made the reservation. Communication before and after our arrival (late check-in) was greatly appreciated. The property is incredible and the room was perfect. Thank you Janet and Joe for welcoming us into your home. We loved staying at the Lakeview and plan to stay here during our annual summer vacation going forward.
WiFi wasn't super strong in our room, but it was cool to put the phones down and relax. Not really a negative in our world.

The property is very well maintained with attention to details. Everything was clean and 100% functioning. Staff is friendly and helpful. This view from the room was fantastic as it overlooked the lake. Our room had a kitchen that helps keep food costs in control. Grills are easily available and accessible. There is a short walk to the main road with a few restaurants and entertainment (arcades) along with the boating. The beach is further at a quarter mile, but you will appreciate not having to pay and park closer. Parking was full but beach was large enough to comfortably accommodate. The pool is also very nice, clean and good sized. Location is excellent. Overall a good value.
As the property has age and is very well maintained, just make sure you pay attention to the stairs as they can be narrow (depth). Very common with historical properties. There is ample lighting and railings to use.
