Quality Inn Mount Airy Mayberry

The staff was great and they went way out of their way to help me after an issue arose with my Booking.com reservation. I even spoke to the QI manager at home who went out of his way to serve as the intermediary between Booking.com and the front desk. Everything was resolved the following day before check out. The bed was real comfortable. The breakfast was good and appreciated. The grounds were grassy with a few trees and it was pleasant. Restaurants are close by.

The room was on the small side but it was an ample size for me. The amenities like towels, tissues, and toilet paper were all in very short supply. There was only 1 tissue left in the box and 5 squares of TP left on the roll (fortunately, there was backup). There was no hard copy of a TV channel guide nor were there directions on how to reach the guide on the TV so that was all trial and error. The pillows (there were 3) were small and very firm. Even though the bed was comfortable I never could get my neck in a position that was satisfying. There is only a single ice machine that is located in the front building (my room was in the back building). The compound is vast enough that they really need a minimum of 2 ice machines with one of them located at the back building. The WiFi was weak.

Coffee was absolutely terrible even after they said they had a problem with it.No freezer in refrigerator

Breakfast was very good selection, primary selection was location on way to final destination and being pet friendly.

What I felt was an add on fee for my pet. Twenty five dollars for a 15 lb dog is high and especially when I thought I had prepaid.
