Kress Inn, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The property was clean and quiet. Located next to Saint Norbert’s makes it very serene. The breakfast area was very clean and nice and excellent coffee!

The spacious room and bathroom arrangement with 2 sink vanities. I liked the operable windows for night time sleeping. The breakfast bar had many options. The internet was fast. Good water pressure, and shower head height for tall people.

I expected central heat /ac and not the noisy wall blower unit right next to the bed. We didn't use the fireplace or bathtub. I wish they had better coffee at the breakfast bar, and REAL HALF & HALF instead of that processed stuff, considering it's America's Dairyland. There was an upholstered couch in our unit, but sitting on it felt like it was sticky plastic. On the last night of our 4 night stay, there was a heavy footed guest in the unit above ours that walked around quite a bit, a couple of times in the middle of the night that woke us up.

The atmosphere at the hotel was amazing. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. During the week at 5pm the staff put out cheese, biscuits and wine to welcome their visitors. This is such a warm and friendly thing to do. The hotel believes in extending hospitality to visitors and they show it in all they do. Breakfast was superb!

-Soft bed linens -Eco friendly, vegan, cruelty free toiletries -Large walk in shower with nice shower head -Great bathroom lighting and fan -Recycling bin in the room -Very clean

The two reason for the low overall score involve the beds and air conditioning of two individual rooms (we had to switch), in addition to issues with the staff with how this was handled/communicated. It soured our experience for staying at Choice brand hotels in the future.
