The staff allowed others to smoke in this non smoking hotel which made our room smell awful during our entire stay. We couldn't sleep due to the smoke odour and due to the noise. I think the hotel is being used for something other than a hotel. We didn't feel safe, we checked out very early. When I spoke to the manager Neil, during check out, he wasn't surprised about my concern of the hotel being used for something else and he knew about the smoking in the non smoking hotel. Don't stay here.

Nothing really just a very old style hotel, slight smell of staleness in the air, but it’s a small town, it was clean tho just dated

Horrible smells throughout the halls and rooms. We tried 3 different rooms, changing rooms twice, and all 3 had a strong musty odor that burned my nose, throat and gave me a headache.

No breakfast offered, so that was a bit of a bummer, but the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the water hot, and the desk clerk friendly. I also learned about the bike trail that is so close - I have a new item on my bucket list.

The only thing that would have made the room better would be more outlets. My son crawled under the table to plug his phone in, but it was loose and the plug kept falling out. I had to use the bathroom outlet to plug my phone. Inconvenient, but not impossible.

AC didn’t work properly.

Location was right in town, easy to get to from the Erie Canal Trail. Very basic. They provided cloths (washcloth sized) for cyclists and miners (Herkimer diamond miners probabaly stop here frequently, too) right in the lobby - can tell who they cater to! This was a nice touch. Check in/Check out people were fine. A cafe (not that bike friendly) and a wonderful bakery (where we had breakfast) were not far away.

It's attached to a movie theater... we were standing right beside it looking at our map and saying it should be right here... then realized we were right next to it. Run down looking from the outside. Inisde was very basic. Nothing special. Cleanliness was eh, not bad, carpet was questionable. Very dated. For a 1 star motel, it's good. If I was cycling the EC again and wanted to stay there, it would be considered for location and price (comparatively speaking), but this might be the town to splurge a bit for a nicer place if possible.

The hotel was close to shops and local restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Dark rooms, it needs renovation, and it had a strange smell.

this has been my second time staying at this location and my pre booking was not in there books even though going through their website. was already charged for the room on the day of booking and when I arrived it was not on the books so I had to charge my card again and last time this happened it took almost 3 weeks for them to refund the money. unfortunately this has happened again and did not have a choice because but to stay because it was no refundable and most likely will be waiting another 3 weeks for my refund for being double charged for a room I pre booked.
