Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Torrington by IHG

Awesome breakfast, free guest laundry, comfortable room

Nothing

It was very clean and plenty of towels. I love that! Full breakfast was amazing.

People in the kitchen weren't very nice. I didn't realize i got to breakfast 10 minutes before they closed. The associate in there was breathing down my neck totally irritated that I was there. She literally stood next to me watching. Then she started closing the doors, never said one word. I profusely apologized because it was obvious she was irritated and she said nothing... no ", thank you, no it's OK , nothing". She needs to be retrained on customer service

I stayed at several motels during this 17-day trip, and this was the nicest by a decent margin. It was also the most expensive, but it was better than my other options in the area, and the facilities more than made up for the slightly higher cost. My room was quiet, spacious and well-furnished. I always appreciate a room that provides a comfortable seat, not forcing me to choose between a flimsy desk chair or the bed to sit. The room had a mini-fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee maker, desk, etc, pretty much covering all the bases for the weary traveler. I took advantage of the complementary laundry room for a load of clothes. The motel also had an indoor pool, which I didn't use but appreciated it being available. The complementary breakfast was hearty and delicious.

I really can't point to anything I disliked. I'm not overly particular when I do stay in motels because they're usually a comfortable break from camping, so as such I generally select budget- or moderately-priced facilities. This was a cut above those, so from my perspective it was top-notch.

Decent breakfast and friendly staff

Lots of issues - only elevator is broken, jacuzzi is broken, water starts at full hot then you turn to get cold (good for shower, annoying for everything else)
