The room smelled strongly like something was burning in there and it was unbearable. The manager was MIA and not answering her phone when we arrived and found the room that way, so we had to leave and come back before someone would be there who could try to resolve the issue. Two staff members, a maintenance man and the manager both agreed the smell was awful and could not stand staying in the room. They attributed it to the heater, but this was much more than a typical heater smell. Something must be seriously wrong with that heater, so I hope that they are trying to fix the actual problem. When we went back in the room to collect our stuff, they had turned off the heat and had it on AC and had sprayed something to try to hide the scent. They didn’t have any other rooms to offer us so they put us in the hotel next door.

I honestly can’t say there was one thing about it I liked

It was terrible service all the way around. They lied to me when I made the reservation and told me they had an indoor pool and gave me the pool hours. When I got there and paid we immediately went to the poor and it was closed down. I went to the front desk and told them I wanted my money back that i specifically asked them if they had an indoor pool. The only reason we traveled to Boone is to get a room with an indoor pool. The ladies at the desk told me that they could give me a refund since I hadn’t been there more than 10 minutes. But as we began to take our things out, the manager got on the phone with me and told me that I could not get a refund and that I would have to stay there. I told her that that was very wrong and she was very rude to me. I would not suggest this hotel at all. The bathroom was dirty. There were hairs all in the bathtub. The sheets looked to me like they had been slept on. It was just a terrible experience all the way around .

Nothing! Not a damn thing! Choice Hotels should rid themselves of this poor excuse of a “hotel”!

The hotel was dirty and unkept. “Interesting” worrisome appearing people walk through the lobby during our front desk visit. The front desk personnel were inexperienced and very poorly trained. The manager who was never present, is a coward. She risks the quality of her hotel to the inexperience front desk people who take 30 to 40 minute breaks and leave the front desk, completely unattended during that timeframe. Upon our arrival, we were assigned a room, and when we went to that room, there was already somebody in it. The guest in that room yelled, “what the hell is going on here? You’re the third group of people trying to get into my room tonight!” Well, these kind of things can happen at a hotel so we went back to the front desk where it was unattended and we waited for 30 minutes for the front desk person to come back. She told us she was on break and that her manager said she could take a break whenever she wanted, therefore leaving the front desk completely unattended. I’ve never been to a hotel that has done this type of thing. The whole situation could easily have been fixed. If the front desk just offered us another room, we got bogged down by the front desk in experience person they just offer another room immediately, however it became much more intense than that. Although all parties were calm the inexperienced front desk person started to cry and went to the back of the desk office, and apparently called her manager. The manager did not come in, but rather the situation into an even bigger problem. She offered no support for her front desk, and she was too cowardly to come in and help that inexperience front desk person with the situation. I asked for a room or my money back and the next thing that happened was the Boone, police showed up. The manager, over the phone, asked the Boone, police to remove us from the property. That was good because we didn’t want to be there anymore anyway.

The front desk lady on Friday and the guy on Saturday need to learn good customer service skills. Throughout my stay Friday, Saturday and the final day my door keys would stop working. This was very frustrating and the lack of a clear explanation could not be given. Other than on late Saturday the guy said it looked like we only had booked one day but obviously it was 4 days/3 nights. Also I reported blood stain on the sheet. The text response was only that. No action so my wife had to get one of the maids working on another room and she did it and also provided new towels which showed she knew good customer service. The water did not remain hot throughout the stay Saturday evening it would barely get comfortable enough to take a warm shower. Not good!!! Also we had a fire alarm mishap on Saturday and had to evacuate. We received no communication about this at all. After thinking about this in more detail you all have issues to fix but I assume this will be placed into file 13th.

Staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating and the location was perfect

Mattress had stains on it and room smelled of mildew. Also at night the parking lot fills up fast leaving no more parking spaces.
