very clean. stove and microwave in good working order.

noisy. bird cage outside the rooms with macaws that screech late at night and early in the morning. also has motion detector lights outside of every room which brighten up everything pretty continuous throughout the night. The rooms do not have darkening shades, so it is always light in the room. also the bathroom has no vent fan and no opening window and no air conditioning vent, so it is always hot in the bathroom and you’ll need a deodorizer if anyone uses the toilet.

Loved the view from our room and the sitting area on the porch, pefect to watch the gorgeous sunrises. The pool was refreshing and very clean. The property is so peaceful as there are only 9 rooms. The birds provided daily entertainment and Lazy Days Restaurant is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The kitchen is fully equipped. One night we made steaks on the grill provided by the hotel (there are 3 of them). Bought the steaks from the Trading Post, it's just up the road from the hotel and is open 24 hrs.

Falling coconuts were a little scarey.

We had to book last minute at the Sands and it was available. We were really happy with the room, and the location was great. Morning sunrises were excellent, and the pool was really nice. We traveled with 2 kids; so we used the pull out sofa bed which was good, as well as the kitchen and room configuration. Overall a great place to stay, really centrally located to Islamorada with lots of shopping, activities and things to do.

This was an absolutely peaceful, scenic, and quaint little hotel. My husband and I (and our pup) had the most relaxing weekend in Islamorada!

Honestly, everything was perfect! I could tell that the staff and owners take great pride in making Sands of Islamorada a home away from home! Truly a hidden gem.

This location provided a convenient stop over in our journey.

The only disadvantage with the location is it’s lack of any form of catering.

Room was very clean ..view was beautiful..loved the porch ! Staff was very attentive when we asked for a 3 rd chair and a back up roll of toilet paper..

*The smell from the sludge build up in the boat launch area made it unbearable to sit on the porch sometimes.. *Only 2 chairs for the table when there were 3 of us .. *Please consider adding an extra lounge chair to watch tv *please consider adding a full length mirror to the bedroom..

This place was perfect for what we needed, close to the marina, a great place to sit by the pool after a day of fishing and touring. Close to many great restaurants. Very comfortable and very clean.

The ice maker was not working.

Summer Seaweed kept us from swimming out to the reef.

I liked the room itself. Everything was clean. The a/c was excellent and ceiling fans were nice. We appreciated the kitchenette and table. Nice sized fridge. The room was a comfortable place to get away from the bright sun and heat.

The wifi usually didn't work. As others have mentioned, communication with staff was kind of lacking (though it didn't create any big problems for us). The waterfront was a big disappointment. There was a lot of sea grass (I think) washed up, and it brought some trash with it. Some places cleaned theirs up daily. This one did not. It was stinky throughout the parking lot, but moreso next to the water.

The leaky ceiling/roof, internet not working, no answers or replies to any of my messages or requests, no one to reach after hours, the costs to service ratio was poor, to say the least.

The location was perfect, it was on the ocean front and close to restaurants and shopping. The room was large well decorated and very clean. There was a coffee maker and coffee available in the room with a table to sit at. Outside our door there were patio chairs to use. The room was super clean we were very comfortable staying here.

The only drawback to our stay we couldn’t use the beach area. The smell from the seaweed was overpowering, it wasn’t racked up, so you couldn’t sit by the water. It was one of the reasons we booked this resort was to use the beach, but unfortunately we couldn’t. This was our only drawback but we managed to drive to a public beach. Other than that we really enjoyed ourselves here.

This was a clean and well-kept place. The rooms were equipped with all we needed. The location was nice and close to many restaurants and attractions. Love my hammock next to the sea!

it was well kept, very clean, grounds were lovely. great view!! They even supplied wine glasses and a fridge…..everything you need!

The television situation is a real problem. Apparently they use some sort of streaming service which is impossible to sign on to! so we weren’t able to watch anything during our stay…. it would have been nice to be able to view the weather!

Loved it! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to a friend. Super cute, beachy room that was very clean.
