The views are amazing and the location makes all of Magnificent Mile easily walkable. There is also a CTA Redline stop right outside the entrance so travel to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game was easy. The access to the Jewel-Osco located on the ground floor makes grocery easy.
You should be careful of the homeless that are ever present outside on the sidewalks but this is not limited to Grand Plaza, it is a systemic issue across Chicago. Just walk away and all is fine.

The views are spectacular. We loved a late night wander through the living room to enjoy the view. The apartment was located in the perfect spot close to the red line. It was very easy to use public transportation. We got a Ventura card at the airport and took the train to the apartment. Grand exit stop is on RED not BLUE. The pool was very nice. It was very easy to walk to a lot must see destinations. Definitely do the architecture cruise. We stayed in #7 and this apartment had a very cool balcony. Our hosts, the Friedkin’s were very easy to communicate with.
I liked this property very much. The only little thing is that the building is dog friendly and the elevator had a lot of dog hair on the floor. The staff was great and they vacuumed frequently but I’m allergic. Just a small thing to keep in mind.

Lift system was a bit confusing initially but not a major issue.
