Angel by the Sea was a great value. The location was fantastic and just one block from the beach. We loved coming in Sept. as the beach was almost our own. We went in the ocean and had the use of the beach chairs, umbrellas and even a beach wagon (which the front desk said a former guest must have left it there.) The breakfasts were TOP NOTCH! It was so lovely to have tea time, with delicious pastries, and wine and cheese time in the evening. Each one of the staff we encountered were very hospitable, friendly and informative. We look forward to booking our next stay with them again.
The bathroom was very small, but to be expected in an older Victorian home. There was a tiny wooden step as an aide to enter the shower. Entering and exiting the shower required extra care and attention so as not to slip and fall.

Location.
It felt neglected. I love vintage and antiques but it needed a whole refresh. Paint, curtains, furniture. Instead of feeling romantic it seemed more like a retirement home. Burn marks at the reception desk, broken furniture at the stairway entrance etc. Also, some nice fruit at breakfast but poached egg served on a croissant was just a soggy mess. Nearly all the bikes had rusted out chains.

"Kleine gemütliche Unterkunft in top Lage zum Strand. Ausgesprochen freundliches Personal. Sehr gutes Frühstücksangebot und darüber hinaus Angebote für Teatime und Wine + Cheese.
Wer sich auf die Eck..."
