Wir haben Wanderwege hinter dem Haus mit Blick auf GFM und Wasserfälle und sind in der Nähe des Harper Creek Falls Trail Head. Wir sind tierfreundlich und haben einen 4-Pferde-Stall für Gäste, die ihre Pferde mitbringen möchten. Der Brown Mountain All Terrain Fahrzeugpark ist nur 14 km vom Haus entfernt, wenn Sie Ihr ATV mitbringen möchten. Kinder können Röhren mieten, um in der Schlucht zu schwimmen oder im Forellenteich unten in Betsys Laden zu fischen. Tolle Ausflüge zu den Linville Falls, zum Linn Cove Viadukt, zum Grandfather Mountain, zum Table Rock Park und zum Blowing Rock zum Einkaufen und für gute Restaurants. We came from Florida looking for a secluded mountain experience. We were NOT disappointed. The property alone was worth the trip. Massive property. With hiking trails to waterfalls right behind the house. The oroperty itself... is def a more rustic cabin. With all yhr amenities you need. We brought 2 smaller dogs and the property was perfect for them and my 2 kids as well. Plenty to explore. We loved the stream running thru the property and an actual waterfall right down a few stairs. A great place to swim and have late night bon fires at. We will def. Be back! The little general store was a life saver for a quick snack and fire wood. It wasnt an issue or anything but it is some serious mountain driving if you want to go to sugar mountain or blowing rock. We did the drive twice to see snow and snow tube. Was def worth it. Was about an hour... to get there. Just some curvy roads. Ha

Jeff was super nice and accommodating. While the cabin was a little older it was still very nice and well appointed. The nature in the area was absolutely stunning despite some areas being closed due to last years storm damage. I enjoyed the short stories authored by the host. They had a very personal and authentic feeling with a pleasant descriptive presentation and just the right level of nostalgia. Brown Mountain Lodge is to be highly recommended as a special place with a special location.

While the property itself was nice. The water access was very grown up and not as easy to access but it did have nice water close to the property once you got there. My biggest complaint was the 9 mile dirt road to the property which took approx 40-45 min to maneuver. Very bumpy and dusty. Once there you would have no access to any restaurant unless back down the dirt road. Left after first night. We rented to be close to The Highland Games. The road to that was much worse. The property manager forgot to send me the code but there was no signal out there had to drive back to borrow someone’s land line to call. He did respond quickly and apologized. I would not rent it again but it was a very secluded property
