Eresin Hotels Topkapı

The receptionist Ilaria was fantastic. There was a mix up and l was given a smoking room but I'd asked for a non smoking room. She changed the room and upgraded me. However, reception seems understaffed , they work hard and efficiently but you need a bigger team to shorten waiting times. The steam room was beautiful. The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The location is excellent , walking distance to the metro line.

1. Nobody offered a concierge service , at this class of hotel you would expect someone to go with you , and your bags to the room. 2. The swimming pool was freezing cold , I couldn't get in it. You expect the water to be at a swimmable temperature. This was very disappointing because l chose this hotel because l wanted to swim. I did ask the leisure facility receptionist and he said the water temperature was 23. It definitely wasn't and other people found the pool too cold too. 3.Staff in the restaurant need better training to create a pleasant efficient environment. For example, they don't smile or say good morning and l heard a customer complaining it had been 40 minutes and she hadn't received her omelette. When l was at the buffet a group of 3 male chefs were crowded around and insisting the female chef replace the items. It would be more polite to just let people finish and change things discreetly. There seemed to be a hierarchy issue in the restaurant and it was noticeable some senior males were bossing others about, l think the management and staff in the restaurant need more development to be friendlier, to each other and customers. It definitely wasn't due to short staffing , if anything it was over staffed. 4. Better offers needed in the room. I was interested in the spa facilities but no offers were advertised. I might have ordered some snacks/drinks for my room but the offers weren't realistic. 20 euros+ for some chips and soda isn't realistic and who is going to pay 15 euro for a portion of fries ? My assumption is that the prices are so unrealistic because you don't want people to order room service.

Good location, easily accessible, I was checked in by Emre who was very warm and helpful. I would stay here again

Large rooms, clean facilities. Turkish bath & spa facilities were lovely. Reception & spa staff were very helpful. Massage was very relaxing after a busy day. We had flies in our room but housekeeping came & sorted that out quickly. Located a fair distance outside city centre (booked by a third party) but tram into centre was convenient.
