We stayed for 1 week in July.. A family group of 7. The location of the villa couldn’t be better - a stunning bay with crystal clear water, very safe for children. There are two kayaks with life jackets for the kids and they loved paddling over to the other side of the bay and snorkelling. The eating area is simply stunning - the perfect spot for breakfast or a lazy dinner. The pool is small but with great views. The two outdoor power showers were excellent. Katy and Tonci had arranged for a local man to bring us groceries each morning so we barely had to leave the villa. The short taxi ride to Vela Luka is so easy and the little town is charming. We had some super dinners, linches and insane ice creams at Diana! This place is a real treat in every way.

Our first trip to Croatia. Nature is stunning. Villa is beautiful and ideally positioned for breathtaking views. Being there out of season means that choice of restaurants and services are limited. But the gorgeous scenery makes up for that!

Perfect
Villa: Pretty, spacious and well equipped villa, really felt like home from home. Spotlessly clean and well maintained, enhanced by Katy's artistic touches.
Grounds: extensive landscaped gardens, choice of terraces, balconies and tranquil spots, beautiful pool area, outside showers, fab BBQ. Add a private mooring jetty and beach area, complete with sun beds and kayak..what more can you want?
Setting: on a small headland commanding 270 views of the beautifully tranquil, wooded bays and islands out to sea. Breathtakingly gorgeous.
Service: nothing is too much trouble for Katy and her family. Its her home as well as her business.
Local Area: Pretty Vela Luka 10mins away by car, Supermarket on the outskirts. Don't miss the daily fish/produce market. Ask if you can't find it! Everyone speaks English and people are v friendly. Car hire and taxi companies couldn't be more helpful. Ferries from Vela Luca to Hvar, Split etc.
Plenty of restaurants/bars . Try "Bata" restaurant for excellent local food.
Korcula town ("little Dubrovnic" definitely worth a visit) is at the opposite end of island, we found it quite a trip by boat and went by car the second time, which was quicker!
Proizd island with its white pebbles and crystal water is a short boat ride away
Tips:
The mooring at Villa Katy has a lazy line, so you don't need to worry about dropping an anchor.
If you are waterskiing from Villa Katy make sure you stay at least 200m from the shore for safety of any swimmers and so as no to disturb the "neighbours" (not may of those about!)
Friendly local families occasionally picnic/swim on the adjacent foreshore. The shoreline belongs to Croatia, so they are entitled to do so but they are very careful not to wander onto private land, and are absolutely no trouble.
We drove a charter boat from Split to Korcula this year but it was 3.5hrs each way and guzzled so much fuel. Next year we'll catch the sea plane (18minutes) to take the ferry is which is only £7 pp

My family spent one unforgettable week in this villa in September. We have traveled quite a lot and stayed in some pretty special places but this villa is situated right on the most pristine water giving an unbelievable experience! The owner thought of everything in the design of this home. The rooms were beautiful and fully equipped. We spent most of our time outside in the gazebo and on the terrace overlooking the most beautiful turquoise water! I cannot say enough great things about this villa. It is in a perfect location, perfectly maintained and only steps away from the beach. It is truly paradise!! We shall be back. Highly recommended!

We can only agree with the majority of the reviews already written that this is a superb holiday villa. The villa was comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. The amazing view from the villa and the pool will stay forever in our memory. All in the house was perfect and absolutely comfortable. Since we rented a car, we also visited nearby towns including enchanting Dubrovnik. We had a very relaxing holiday, only too short! Thank you Katy also for the delicious cake made our leaving a little bit sweeter.

We had a wonderful time here, the villa and location was fantastic for sightseeing and relaxing which was exactly what we wanted from our holiday. The villa was very specious and clean and set in lovely grounds right next to the sea. The planting around the house is beautiful, it's so quiet it feels like your own secret hideaway. We soon established a daily ritual, of a morning dip in the sea followed by breakfast on the terrace… leaving us to decide whether to relax by the pool or venture out to discover new beaches and seaside villages...then finishing off each evening with meal of freshly caught fish and some local wine on the dining terrace and perhaps one more dip in the pool.
We shall be back - thank you Katy and Tonci.

Our two weeks-long stay at this villa was the best part of our 3 week visit to Croatia. The villa was absolutely lovely. The view was spectacular. The waterfront location was close to everything you needed or wanted to do, and the property and situation of the villa provided a sense of privacy and serenity unequaled by any vacation property we have ever rented.
The villa and the setting were perfectly married, an ideal property by the sea. The view from the property was expansive and idyllic. The villa is fully equipped with even a microwave, free wifi, and an outdoor BBQ make it feel like home.
We particularly liked the serenity and just being able to watch the occasional yacht drifting silently across the bay was truly wonderful. The large shady front terrace and the gazebo area outside was a real bonus allowing us to cool off after baking round the poolside! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa. Thanks for a brilliant time.

We have just returned from a perfect holiday in wonderful Villa Katy, which is one of the best villas we have ever stayed in. We spent most of our time relaxing by the lovely pool or eating/drinking on the splendid terrace. The kids also enjoyed the spacious outdoor areas where they could play.
The spectacular location are quite literally breathtaking and will live long in our memories.
The owner was easy to contact and helpful both before we arrived and during the stay.
I could not recommend this villa highly enough.

Near paradise
The seclusion, tranquility and peace that you recieve staying here is amazing. Only 10 minutes from a lovely town with nice restaurants and shops, whilst still leaving you with the feeling that you could be on a private island. We loved the villa and Katy is wonderful, she even baked us a cake and brought us fresh figs. The views are spectacular and private yachts seem to find the location amazing also as they anchor in the bay, which leads you to wonder who is the luckier person. We loved it and can't recommend it enough. The only downside was that the whole of Croatia seems to be infested with wasps and these can be a bother when you are trying to eat or drink outdoors, but this seemed true of the whole Dalmatian Coast. If you want tranquility and a fabulous villa in a stunning location, with great food and wine nearby (by car), look no further, you will not be disappointed. Great value for money.

Great holiday, superb location
When we arrived at Villa Katy we were pleased by the beauty of location of the house. The location does not get better then this. Peaceful and calm atmosphere combined with the fantastic views, takes away all motivation to go somewhere else. We lounged to take in the sun, swam in both the pool and the beach at the base of the property, and we even took the kayaks out a couple of times. This was definitely one of our favorite family vacations, and we'd recommend it to anyone we know.

Beautiful and unspoilt
This really proved to be wonderful holiday. The island is beautiful and unspoilt, and the people, without exception, friendly and helpful. It is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly wish for, all top quality! We have visited so many villas where the owners have just spent the minimum possible...but not this one. The description is accurate. The views are stupendous. If you rented a villa with views like this in the South of France it would cost ten times more. The locality was just right for us. There were some lovely restaurants in Vela Luka serving traditional croatian dishes and seafood. Undoubtedly the best thing is direct access to the sea for swimming, kayaking or to simply to lounge and watch the ocean. Overall this is a charming place and perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Exceeded our expectations!!!
Our group of 8 people spent a week at this fabulous villa. From arrival to departure our experience was sensational and I am delighted to say "exceeded our expectations!". There was a place for everyone to have a little privacy when they needed it. We enjoyed kayaking, walking, both swimming in clear sea & the pool and general relaxation our entire stay.
Highly recommended.
Thank you for sharing your fantastic home.

Beautiful and peaceful
Six of us stayed for a week at Villa Katy, it was truly amazing from start to finish. It villa was spotless, huge, modern and had all the amenities you could possibly want. The best part was the villa's great locaton with the stunning views overlooking the water. Our host was incredibly helpful and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived until we left a week later.
It was truly great holiday and we're definitely coming back!

Stanning location and great service
Surrounded by huge gardens and located right on the tip of point of the bay Villa Katy is the ideal spot for sun and sea lovers holiday. You can lounge around, explore the gardens or take a dip in the ocean, all the time with seclusion and privacy. When we where the in October, the heated pool was a pleasant alternative for the children.
The house has been recently tastefully refurbished with a thoroughly modern decor throughout and I particularly loved the shower panel with jet massage.
The owner was very helpful and friendly.
Overall we had a great time and would recommend this place to everyone.

Overpriced
We stayed here at the start of the season and in May/ June and found the description accurate but this is definitely NOT a luxurious villa. The furniture is jaded 1950's, bathrooms are tiny, master bath is on ground floor and next to it another tiny bathroom while 4 bedrooms are upstairs and share one tiny bathroom. Mattresses are old, not very comfortable and bedding is also 1950's. The villa could use some modernizing. The balconies have wonderful views but the windows are small so the view can only really be optimized from outside.
But this is not a villa that one visits for the inside - the outdoors is spectacular though very cold when it is windy as it is exposed out on a peninsula - faces southeast so sun sets behind mountains. Outdoor furniture has seen better days and the villa we found in comparison with other places on the island of Korcula to be very over priced.
The dishwasher did not work and the safe broke. The tiny pool was under construction at the time of our visit. Instructions on how to operate things were not given. There is no parking except outside the villa on dirt.
The property was clean. Limited old towels were provided until we asked for more. However, absolutely no staples were provided and we had to ask for salt, pepper, dish washer detergent etc. The door to the laundry room was locked and we were not given a key.
Customer service was patchy. Although broken things were fixed, it was by no means immediate. I would guardedly recommend the property during July - September only and for families or those who are not seeking above an average property. Most restaurants and activities were closed as the start of June was not yet season. The villa is isolated at the end of a dirt road.

A very special place
Spent two weeks here mid September 2009 with my partner and I cannot recommend the property highly enough.
A truly adorable villa in the most amazing location. The views are to die for. Spent ages searching the internet for a house with private sea access and managed to find that, and a whole lot more! The little private beach and jetty is where we spent most of our time. The kayaks are great, allowing you to explore all the nearby bays and see the amazing Korculan coastline from the best possible vantage point. Have never seen such clean, clear and inviting water in Europe before!!!!!! It's more like the Caribbean!
The house has all the facilities anyone could possibly need and is very comfortable. Most of our time was spent outside though! Numerous terraces and dining areas provide a perfect setting for any mood or occasion, day and night!
The pretty town of Vela Luka is nearby and has basic shops and supermarkets as well as some nice simple bars and restaurants that are very good value for money. Overall a perfect holiday hideaway. We were looking for a beautiful quiet environment to relax and do very little and that is exactly what we found.
And last but not least, there is the lovely Katy! A truly wonderful lady and the perfect host. She was very helpful if needed but never intruded on our holiday. And the daily gifts of homemade cakes and fresh figs were much appreciated!!!!!
Have rebooked the villa for a month next year. Enough said!

Beautiful hiding place
Very nice location with an owner you would wish to have as your aunt (very kind with great cake creation abilites...:-)).
It is so peaceful and cosy, that in the end we did not have the planned excursions we wanted just stay there, swim, eat, enjoy the garden and do not think about the outside world.
Beautifully set spacious villa, with balconies, so that you have al fresco breakfast, lunch, dinner, all with different settings as the sun moves.
Well equipped kitchen, sitting room, bathrooms. You would not need anything else. The villa's ventillation, setting and the garden's microclimate is such, that we did not switch on the aircon. And it was a hot August...
Just lovely. Briefly: the kids only very few times really wanted to get back to the same place for the summer holidays. And they spent summers in Greece, Sardinia, Portugal, Austria, you name it....This case we did not leave the villa yet, and they banged on my head to book it for the next summer as well (which we did).

Pure Relaxation
Our three week holiday in Katties house was probably one of the most relaxed holidays we have ever had. The house is beautifully located on a small peninsula where except a few sailboats every once in a while nobody disturbs you. The house itself is well equipped and spacious. Whe the wheather is bad the DVD collection offers somethin for everyone and when the sun is shining (as most of the time) the water is crystal clear and you can see fish, octopuses, starfish, shrimps, and a lot of other sealife. The island itself does not offer too much touristic attractions but if you travel with children or are not keen of visiting but on relaxing, readin or lying in a hammock in the sea breeze - Villa Katy is definitely for you!
