Ballymascanlon Hotel and Golf Resort

Room was spacious and clean although the padel courts were outside so a bit noisy late on the evenings, breakfast was ok, things overcooked at 7.30 when breakfast had only started, no butter available on one morning. Breads and cheese available was very nice. Bar food was good but there are better options in Dundalk itself.

The shower is very small and when I went to have a bath in the evenings the water was filthy coming out of the taps.

Excellent- nice assortment of fruit and breads. Freshly renewed hot food with properly hot plates!

Bar food - ok. I had chicken wings - far too much bbq sauce- very sticky and too sweet - couldn’t taste the chicken. No extra plate provided for bones - had to ask for a few things which should have been standard, but staff really attentive and friendly.

Big comfortable rooms.

Its just so happened that when we stayed ,the hotel have power outage for like +/-3 hrs. But staff are very apologetic and i know its out of their control. Then on the Terrace Bar(dinner), i just felt that the staff are more attentive to the needs of others rather than us as we waited to be asked for our order even the other table came later than us. And no eye contact /no smile even while taking orders. No short conversation. We even went to the staff in the counter to pay for our bill as nobody asked us if we need anything. Is it because of my skin color? That was even my birthday. But on the breakfast, the staff in the counter was very pleasant even very apologetic for the electricity interruption.
