All the staff are pretty much invested on guests including the manager who was doing rounds and checking in with each guest to make sure they are happy with the stay.

The road to the resort is a little challenging. But that’s nothing to do with the resort.

Das Hotel ist einzigartig. Durch die kleine Größe des Hotels ist das alles sehr persönlich und man wird meistens mit dem Namen angesprochen. Die Zimmer/ Suiten sind phänomenal. Sehr groß und wunderschön eingerichtet. Das Highlight ist mit Sicherheit die Outdoor Dusche! Die gesamte Anlage ist super schön und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Da das Hotel etwas abseits ist, waren wir die gesamte Zeit während unserem Aufenthalt (4 Nächte) ausschließlich in der Anlage. Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Auch das Essen und Getränke Angebot war hervorragend. Nach Bedarf kann man auch Ausflüge unternehmen. Wir können das Hotel nur empfehlen und werden sicher wieder kommen!

Anfahrt zum Hotel ist etwas erschwert durch die vielen Schlaglöcher. Dauert etwas länger. Manchmal haben die Getränke etwas länger auf sich warten lassen. Dafür haben sie aber super geschmeckt.

The amazing staff made our stay to be the of the highest standard. Avanti, the Guest Relations Manager, and Umberto, the hotel General Manager, were simply outstanding in their focus in ensuring that all our needs were met - AND EXCEEDED. The charisma and charm of the staff elevated our experience to stratospheric levels! The small boutique style hotel has an unenviable beach location and a very stylish presentation. Food was of the highest quality with fresh fish and seafood being a particular favourite. We are planning to return to continue with some of the beautiful cultural attractions that we did not have time for this time!

Gute Location, wer einfach nur relaxen möchte. Guter Service, gutes Essen, sehr schöner Badestrand. Außergewöhnliche Zimmer, direkt am Strand, in einer sehr gepflegten Anlage. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Zimmerservice nicht ganz so perfekt, sicher nur Kleinigkeiten. So wurde das Wasser für das Fußbad vom Strand nicht täglich gewechselt. Die Wasserhähne an der Dusche gingen sehr schwerfällig. Die Minibar wurde nur nach Aufforderung aufgefüllt.

Highly professional management and accommodating staff in a wonderfully luxuriant and relaxed venue. Highly recommended.

The dirt road in is a challenge to negotiate, but not much worse than a lot of Sri Lanka's sealed roads anyway.

This resort hotel reminded us slightly the Maldives vibe. The hotel area has many places to relax and enjoy beautiful views of the ocean. Access by small car is bit difficult, so a bigger car was organized to meet us on the way. Unfortunately, our arrival at the hotel was not very pleasant as there were electrical problems in our suite. After some complications, everything was resolved, but it took quite a long time. The beachfront suite (luxury tent) itself was spacious and nice, especially the outdoor shower. The hotel has also a small Spa, where we enjoyed a good massage. The restaurant food was good but slightly overpriced. Most of the staff was pleasant and friendly. The hotel area, the beach and the pool are very well-kept and beautiful. All in all, we were satisfied with the visit because the place itself is gorgeous. This is an extraordinary destination, located on what is arguably Sri Lanka's most beautiful beach! The people are genuine, welcoming and warm. The accommodation is effortless luxury with a sublime design aesthetic. And everything in-between, from the sumptuous selection of food to the fun-filled ways to spend your days, comes straight out of a dream holiday fantasy! Make this your next holiday destination - it will not disappoint. We've done a few island holidays including Thailand, Mauritius, Zanzibar, Reunion, Maldives etc. and of all those Karpaha Sands really stood out. This is a special property in an unbelievable location, and it more than ticked every box we have! Avanti, Robert and all the staff were amazing and personable; making sure we felt welcomed, cared for and treated! An unreal beach, delicious food, brilliant design, wonderful service, stunning location, best breakfast ever, art to die for... the list of pluses for this property are endless. But if we had to highlight one thing... it would be the secluded environment! With a limited number of luxury tents for guests - this was the most spacious stay we've ever had. We saw guests come and go, met a few, and had the occasional wave in passing on the beach... but apart from that we almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. To run a fully booked resort and deliver that experience is rare and magical. Our 7- and 11-year old boys loved every single second of our 10-days at Karpaha sands and we will definitely be back!

Be warned, this is not around the corner from the airport in Colombo... but all good things come to those who wait. It's a 5-hour shuttle from Colombo to Kalkudah. The team at Karpaha Sands will arrange your shuttles for you - so you can just sit back and relax. We did the trip arrival and return trip in one go with our 7- and 11-year old boys. The shuttles were comfortable, the drivers' were excellent and the journey was hassle-free. If 5-hours feels too much, break the trip up with some sightseeing or stays along the way - there are tons of gems on the west-east route across Sri Lanka!

tents are nice even if it is strange to have the toilet not separated even with a curtain. beach is perfect

LOVE the property! Stunning beach villas with such a calm and soothing vibe.. My only tiny feedback was the food, it’s was nice overall but could have been better.. But otherwise, Highly recommended!

We had 4 days at this beautiful hotel and had a wonderful time. The sea is really clean and calm, sandy beach with palm trees is beautiful. It was really quiet and peaceful. It is a huge bay and Karpaha is the only hotel there. Sometimes we were the only ones swimming in the sea. We had a garden view room which had a lot of privacy. The rooms are designed really nicely and they are very comfortable. The massages were affordable and really amazing! We felt so refreshed after our stay. Food was also super tasty. We were welcomed with a lot of smiles, staff was really nice. The residence manager Avanti made our stay really comfortable and enjoyable. We felt really cared for. We will always remember Karpaha as one of our happy places and we hope to be back!

The beach was beautiful. The rooms were gorgeous, especially the outdoor waterfall shower. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was indulgent and the menu for other meals was also extensive (both Sri Lankan and Western food) and reasonably priced. The pool and surrounds were very well-kept and lovely to spend hours at.

The internet situation in the room was sometimes a bit flaky. They mentioned that they're looking at uplifting this soon though.

The hotel pool and beach are truly exceptional and ultimately make the hotel worth visiting. There was an air-conditioned room next to the restaurant that was a great bonus for us as we travelled with a two-year old.

The air conditioning in our tent was very loud and did not work well. The food was totally fine, but unremarkable, and expensive vs. other places we stayed. Everything is marked up 10% for service charge, including the room rate with tips expected on top.

the tents are spacious and clean, very well decorated and comfortable, with a/c. The resort is beautiful and the beach is incredible. Nice pool and restaurant!

The access road isn’t great.

Everything! This place is absolutely gorgeous. Rooms on the beach are stunning with direct view on the sunrise. Service is excellent and everyone is very careful. Everything was amazing in Karpaha Sands!

The activities were fully booked and they require few days in advance booking, as we had a short stay we were not able to enjoy them, maybe next time!

interior, service, food and services are all perfect. Listed below are a couple of cons.

bicycles need to be repaired, the chain falls off, the saddle cannot be adjusted, do not offer them to guests in the condition in which you offer them now, this is disrespectful to the guest. In the spa, the masseur offered me and my husband dirty towels, passing them off as clean ones, and tea from a stained glass, I had to refuse subsequent visits as it was not pleasant. Breakfast is a la carte, it takes 1 hour because the staff is interday at 7am. Put the cookies away for the night! Why is it? From him only obesity diabetes and heart disease is not a concern for the guests. bring better fresh apples - it's healthy! There is some problem with the local fishermen who are not friendly to visitors, as it seemed to me.

The hotel is small so there aren't a lot of people. The neighbours who are fishermen and local visitors to the beach are friendly. The beach is fairly empty and nobody bothers you. The pool is a nice temperature. Overall it is a very nice place to relax. Also we had excellent service at the restaurant from Vidhooshan who was our waiter on both nights. Overall it was a good stay. Wish we had more time.

The road to the hotel is terrible. I heard there was a dispute with the local authority as to who should fix it but generally speaking the craters are so big some cars will struggle to get through. Also we found the food a little under seasoned but this maybe due to the Western European clientele.

The road to the hotel is terrible, not reachable by small car. They need to offer to pick up the guests from the main road. Reception is not very welcoming

We chose Karpaha Sands for our anniversary and couldn't have made a better choice. From the first moment we felt like we were in paradise in our safari beach tent. The tents are far enough apart that everyone had their privacy. We had our own sun loungers and umbrella right in front of us with amazing views of the sea. In the afternoon we watched the fishermen. You could say we had the beach to ourselves as most of the guests were squeezing in by the pool. You carry internet everywhere you go, which is also nice. We recommend ordering the Rice and Curry for dinner, seafood and fish! We even got a cake for dinner for our anniversary. There was also a surprise waiting for us in the tent, on the bed. Thank you for a perfect stay, we will be back again!

One of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. The Hotel is perfectly composed in the nature, ekstra bonus; art in almost every corner. Friendly staff and very good food.

I liked very much the vibe of the place generally ...fantastic beach,luxury tents,perfect kitchen. As a bonus great treatment in SPA from both of the girls. Strongly recommend!!! .

The hotel is beautiful!!! Everything is clean and they take care of the area inkl. the beach constantly. The food is excellent! The manager is very nice and friendly and often says hallo during breakfast& dinner and asks if everything is fine and has a small chat with every guest. Though there are not many things to do around and no other restaurants at the beach you won't get bored. They offer lots of tings like a candle light dinner, movies at the beach, spa, stand up paddling etc. It was a pleasure to stay here and we didn't want to leave!

insignificant interruptions in hot water and non-obvious road to the hotel. But these were small moments, the rest was perfect.

The seafront tent was amazing, The roar of the sea was loud, The bed was comfy. The food was exceptional. One of our group had a huge graze on her leg after an accident and Bianca took it upon herself, with a colleague to clean the wound, we were very grateful. K Uthershan and R Thushenthan also deserve a mention for brilliant service.

There were so many snakes it made us jumpy! In 36hrs there were two incidents of snakes falling out of the trees! another huge one by the pool. also the electric went twice in Palam 8 tent.
