Hotel Hamlet

Fine old hotel with style and patina. Friendly reception, perfect location near station, ferries and town centre.

Rather expensive for the small room, considering that breakfast is an extra-charge. It's not the hotel's fault, but the town fathers have in their wisdom decided to dig up the entire area, all at the same time. For repaving or whatever. No intrusive noise, but the hotel is virtually on an 'island', you have to find your way through the building site to the front door. This does not contribute to the town's attractions: it is maybe not the best time to visit Helsingör... As I experienced elsewhere, the hotel might like to consider reduced rates for the duration of the building works.

Not the hotel's fault but there was construction everywhere and I wish we had been warned. We couldn't find the hotel because all the surrounding streets were closed. When we finally found it visually, there was nowhere to park to get our luggage to the hotel. The sidewalks were mostly closed as well. If you know the city, I suppose you know the back streets (but then you wouldn't need a hotel, would you?) It was just a very big mess of construction that I wish we had known about. On the other hand, the manager was great and helpful.

Super schönes Hotel. Zentral am Bahnhof und nah an der Altstadt. Gutes Frühstück! Sehr nettes Personal!

Proximity to station and ferry and everything. Staff was kind. Tea selection is nice.

Really old rooms with only a surface fix up. Could hear everything from room above us and was very cramped. Construction on street made it hard to enter and wasn’t informed until arrival day. Shower is odd configuration, messy and bath needs a fan. Overpriced for what you get and I do not recommend unless it’s your only option. Next time we would stay across water somewhere in Helsingborg, Sweden or south closer to Copenhagen.
