The Flowerpot

The pub and entertainment

Nothing at the money, value for money done as well as it can be

Great stay! The bed was really comfortable, the room was spacious, the bathroom was large and although there was no air conditioning, they provided a tabletop fan. The music from the bar downstairs stopped promptly at 10:00 p.m., just as they'd said it would. I had a late departure from Derby and the friendly manager was kind enough to let me leave my luggage in my room! The cleaning staff then brought it downstairs and the manager met me promptly at 1:00 as planned to transfer it to me. I had the Indian curry on one of their 3X-weekly curry nights and it was OUTSTANDING. Would be happy to stay here again.

Few electrical outlets, the mirror in the bathroom was mounted too high to see myself, the windows were not double-glazed (earplugs helped as the road is quite busy), and most significantly, the exterior lock on the door leading to the guest rooms frequently got stuck and was difficult to turn. It sometimes took me two or three full minutes to get the door open, and I felt very vulnerable standing there on the side of the street next to a biker bar with my handbag on my shoulder as I was attempting to get inside. This should be addressed quickly.

The location! City centre right around the corner as well as the oldest pubs in Derby. The room and bathroom were a good size, bed was comfortable. The shared kitchenette with toast and cereals for breakfast was great. Exceptional value!

The wifi was not great. There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms which could be an issue for some people, especially with luggage.

It was clean and the location was good

There was a terrible smell, first thing we did on arrival was to open the windows !!
