A great place to stay in the summer.

The house is a side street very quiet, with a nice patio to sit and have dinner outside. Description is very accurate: few km from the beach and a supermarket where you find anything you need. 30 minutes or so drive to Porto, but we actually used it to explore northen Portugal, including national park, Braga, Ponte de Lima and many more places. great place and good communication with the owners. highly recommended.

The location is nice. That is the only positive. The premises is substandard, the electrics go off if you have the fire and kettle on at the same time, the bathroom is a shoebox with a sliding door, the shower ,and hot water, is a joke, and there is dog mess all over the "garden" and path where the washing line is and the first time we didn't manage to avoid all the deposits. It is not rustic, cute and charming, it is substandard.

We just enjoyed two very relaxed weeks in this wonderful small house - the great terrace being our "living room". Standing up we could even watch the sun setting over the sea. We can highly recommend the beach of Afiffe, the waves, the apartment and the friendliness of the owner.
All in all a perfect holiday.

Carlos is a very nice host and the accommodation is beautifull. The bed was very good. Very nice place outside, very nice that you can use the washingmachine, bikes etc. We had a great time with Carlos!

Nice place for a couple or small family, which likes nature, hilly countriside, sandy beaches without crowds and good food and wine in many little resturants.
Accomodation was very pleasant. The house is not big, but has a beautifull garden with views on a church and the Ocean. Great place to sit, eat and have a drink. Local vinho verde and Port is recomended. Barbecue is very usefull.
Carlos prepared a set of tips, maps, etc. for trips around the house.
Ocean is 15 minutes walk away, Then you can walk along the Ocean easily doezns of kilometers. Mountains have altitude between 500 to 1000 m above the sea level. The nearest one starts just behind the house. There are also several rivers good for canoeing. Rivers are a bit warmer than cold Atlantic Ocean so you can swim in rivers. Flowers are everywhere thanks to a lot of sun and rain. Within 80 km you can find a lot of beautiful villiges and towns, such as Porto, Viana do Castello, etc.

"We have had an excellent stay at the Minhota house in Afife. The decoration inside the house, the kitchen and the bathroom are nice, clean and almost new.From the terrace we enjoyed the view all over the village and the St Antonio church. The atlantic ocean is nearby with its superb beach. For visit in the region we can recommand Braga, Porto, Ponte de Lima, all in 1 hours drive. The owners, Carlos and Carolina, are very kind and helpful, and the dog is super sweet. We enjoyed it very much."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment and felt very welcome all the time. It is as nice as on the pictures and also very clean. Also the hirer Carlos and his family are very friendly persons who gave us a lot of tips an answered all our questions. In the evenings we sat often on the beautiful terrace and enjoyed the view. The Beach in this area is great and there are also good conditions for hiking.
Don´t worry about the dog, she is really relaxed.
