The location was perfect, so close to the main restaurants area. The flat was lovely, spacious, clean and nicely decorated. I would visit both flat and Troyes again.

Downtown location. Courteous owner's husband who helped us with our suitcases (2 flights of narrow stairs without elevator).

Old uncomfortable bed. Pillows were so bad that we had to buy 2 new pillows at Monoprix. Neighbors partied with loud music until 4 am. Sporadic hot water: 3 nights without shower because no hot water. We checked out one day early (no discount). When telling Marina, the owner, about our problems, she answered that she has traveled to places where the water was black or no water was available... and she deemed that normal. As for the all-night partying, this was also normal in her eyes because it was new year. We called her during our stay to let her know. She promised she would follow-up... she never did.

The location of the apartment is really good for exploring Troyes. Owner was very good with responding to text messages and was on time for check in and check out.

The kitchen is not really designed for cooking ,more suited for heating up food . The street is noisy at night, but it is to be expected when staying right in the centre of the city. Being sent a tenancy rental agreement after final payment had been taken and only one week before our arrival date. We have stayed in 230 properties and have never had this before. We were aware of the 350 euro bond and that was not an issue. We paid the 350 euro security bond in cash on arrival, signed the agreement and did get our 350 euro back on check out but having to sign a very wordy legal document that favoured the owner was off putting. It was never mentioned in any of the fine print when we booked with Booking.com . The owner was very nice, extremely helpful in explaining the area and was very good about check in and check out times. Overall we had a lovely stay, we just did not like the tenancy agreement being sent to us after final payment had been taken.

There could have been an armchair or two with appropriate lighting as we do a lot of reading on holiday. There was only a sofa bed in the lounge and the TV, (which we don't watch as our French isn't that good). We sat at the dining/kitchen table to read.
