We booked the self catering option which gave us additional room and facilities. The kitchen facilities are adequate with a microwave, fridge and food preparation area next to the dining table which afforded lovely hillside views. It is situated in an exceptionally quiet courtyard with some private parking and as we were attending a function in the village the property was very conveniently located.

Comfortable
It was to far away from Catterick Garrison. In booking. Com it saud the property waa 8 miles away from Catterick it took me 20 minutes to get there just over 11 miles

From early arrival to leaving we were very happy with our stay. Even though Terry was busy he still had time to chat with us. We were given a 5% voucher off for one of the local pubs The Buck and we enjoyed a tasty and inexpensive meal.
We would definitely stay at Arkleside Country Guest House again.
What we didn't like isn't the fault of Arkleside Country Guest House.
We're used to living in a noisier location with a lot of ambient noises at night. Arkleside Country Guest House is so quiet it took quite a while to be able to go to sleep.

We were able to make a last minute booking due to some unexpected delays in our walking trip
They charged us £16 for a small load of laundry! How ridiculous!
They also promised a discount if we booked another night and then just said “NO!” at the time of billing. This kind of dishonesty was odd and very sad to experience in such a small countryside town.
