Great woodland setting, with very good common area and wonderful onsen bath. Great information from a very accommodating owner Kim, who was full of information. Kim picked us up and shuttled is around to various places which waa bey handy.

The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. The place was nice and cozy. I will definitely refer this to my friends and family.

The place is very clean and comfy. It is in the middle of the maple trees, quiet and it's really affordable. Kim was an awesome host and we found a common passion about 90s era Formula 1. Had really interesting and fruitful discussions.

It's bit hidden in the mountains so a bit difficult to find especially in the dark. Also gravel road with slopes so I would recommend bikers to be really extra careful (especially if raining in the dark).

A beautiful chalet in the forest! We were greeted by snow monkeys in the yard every morning - amazing. Kim shuttled us around to the Kurobe Alpine bus (the start of the trip to the Kurobe Dam and beyond) and back again, to the grocery store and a fantastic friendly little Japanese restaurant for dinner. We even went together to a temple celebration that we would not have known about without them. He and Machiko were wonderful hosts in every way. The private onsen in the house was sooo relaxing. This was a perfect stay and a reason to return to Shinanoomachi. It’s a homestay, not a hotel, so you’ll get a cultural experience here, too. Highly recommended.
