Baan Suan Hill Resort

Lovely room, clean & air conditioned. Very comfortable bed & WiFi + TV worked well. Perfect place to stay if visiting Khao Sok water bungalows & need to be nearby the night before. Staff were lovely and friendly, 7-11 is a short walk away & local restaurants nearby as well.

Water pressure in the showers wasn’t great

Cozy spot near the lake and dam. There’s a night market open some nights (Saturday at least) across the street. Great, friendly staff.

We booked the hotel as an overnight stop over on our way to Khao Sok national park due to it being close to the pier from where the boats leave. The hotel has a rustic feel and is in the countryside although close to the town. The restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast has fantastic views across the woodlands and to the distant mountains. The room although small was as expected and equipped with a fridge. We were staying in an older unit which had a covered patio complete with a hammock to relax in. The hammock was great and I spent time in it watching a tropical rainstorm unfold in the distance. The hotel does not have a pool or gym but this was not something we needed for our stay. The local 7-11 is a 10 minute walk and is quite a large one and well stocked with everything you might need. The restaurant had a small menu but something for everyone and the food was cooked fresh and was very tasty. My daughter is a vegetarian and was happy with her choices. The hotel staff were very helpful and for a small charge dropped us off at the pier for our boat the next day. I left my headphones in our room and thought that would be the last I saw of them, but the hotel let us know and kept them for us to collect on our way back to Bangkok.

The mattress in our room was very firm. Although not to our taste others might prefer a hard mattress. I understand from my daughter who is travelling through Asia that a lot of hotels have very firm mattresses. So if this is not for you check reviews for mattresses before you book.

Frühstück war ok, aber nichts besonderes. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist sehr schön und nahe zum Nationalpark. Man sitzt auch sehr schön zum Frühstück und zum Essen.

Die Zimmer sind mit dunklem Holz ausgestattet und sehr schlecht beleuchtet. Von den ohnehin wenigen Leuchten waren einge kaputt. Entspannt lesen war in der Dämmerbeleuchtung kaum möglich. Auf unsere Nachfrage wurde immerhin die Leuchte im Bad repariert. Was gar nicht ging war die Wasserversorgung. Aus dem Wasserhahn kam nur ein Rinnsal und zwischenzeitlich nur Tropfen. Gleiches galt für die Dusche. Das Wasser war abwechselnd kalt und sehr heiß. Haare waschen und Duschen ging nur mit sehr viel Geduld. Die Betten sind sehr hart!
