Kasbah Agounsane Hotel & Spa

Everything was perfect! The pool. The huge rooms. The fabulous breakfasts and dinners. They expanded the dinner menu while we were there to include things other than the classic Moroccan Tagines, although they were delicious as well. The new chefs did a fabulous job and the waiters were charming and highly attentive to our needs. (Thank you "Red-wine" and "See-Mo"! )The views from the balcony dining area are stunning at sunset and the inner dining room is gorgeous and plush, as is the entire entry hall and common areas. High ceilings throughout and all sitting areas furnished with comfortable modern moroccan decor. We felt like we lived in a mansion, which I suppose we did! New owners/management went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous beyond words. The cleaning staff kept the place spotless and shimmering. I couldn't recommend this place more. Thank you Lenny. We wish you and your family all the luck in the world!

The mattresses could use a little more top-cushioning and the pillows a little less loft. The wine and liquor list could be expanded, although that is a tough call in Morocco I'm sure.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kasbah Agounsane. All the staffs were so helpful and friendly, they all worked very hard. The hotel managers, Lenny and Hassen were always very friendly and helpful when we needed to arrange our transportation and when we have any questions about our excursions. The atmosphere at the hotel was really relaxing. We really liked the small number of guests, there were only 12 rooms at the hotel. Our rooms were really spacious (50 m2). The view overlooking the hills and villages was lovely . Very relaxing poolside. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The Kasbah has a lot of charm. We were warmly welcomed by the new staff. We were very surprised and pleased with the attention that we got because of my birthday’s girlfriend ! The gardens are beautiful, well groomed and it is very peaceful.

Although the management of the hotel changed last month. There are details that are not up to the standard. There is difference of decoration between the main hall and the room (standard room) where there was no decoration at all like in the pictures. Looks like the old management left with the paintings. There was some limescale in the shower. The breakfast was good with some different things from other hotels in Morocco. The only fly in the ointment is the restaurant and one of the waiter. The food is average, mostly simple tajines and some western dishes. It would be nice to make a new menu with more sophisticated Moroccans dishes and a mocktail list. I certainly hope that the new management will improve the Kasbah and make it wonderful experience !

The common areas (lobby, terrace, pool area) were lovely. Modern, clean, spaceous and with reasonably good internet. The staff was very friendly and worked hard, at least the fron desk and waiting staff. Food was good, but expensive. Drinks were good, but expensive.

The bathrooms were awful, especially the one in our room (sink clogged, shower leaky and wobbly, dirty), but also the common ones. The one by the pool was infested with dozens of mosquitos. Most of them had brown limescale that looked disgusting. Toilet seats were old and broken etc. The bathroom in our room did not have any curtains or anything else that would block people watching us shower through the window, which is creepy, given there were workers outside our window during the day. The lowlight there was that you were unable to flush toilet paper, but then got nothing but a little basket to throw used toilet paper into - no bin, no lid, no bag, nothing. So, basically you had used toilet paper in an open basket lying next to the toilet. We also suspect that the hotel gave us a worse room that we have paid for, which we signaled, but did not get a resolution. The location only makes sense if you have a car, and a solid one, too. The hotel is located behind a long gravel road that is hard to scale by foot and even with the wrong set of tyres.
