breakfast was great and freshly prepared. I asked for traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and Sunhil was very happy to sort this for the second day. His wife prepared a beautiful selection - all freshly made with evident love and care! Highly recommend trying it! Tandem is incredibly clean and constantly maintained and clean - there are always staff (Sunhil) around and the place feels very safe and calm. Also the location is excellent - directly across the road from Narigama Beach (definitely the highlight beach of Hikkadua).

Great breakfast (fresh fruits and juice, coffee, tea, eggs of your choice, butter, bread....) kindness of the owner who speaks good english, wifi, sparkling clean room and bathroom, air condition, good bed, spacious room, cleaning service, patio, fridge, great location; beach is on the other side of the street, plenty of shops, markets, bars and restaurants nearby Exceptional service, exceptional place! UPDATE: I was there for 9 nights, but my girlfriend stayed longer, so here i share her review: Accommodation is excellent (exactly as it is on available photos), perfectly clean, comfort beds, specious rooms, great location and breakfast. But hospitality of the owners is amazing. Owner English is excellent which was extremely helpful while my staying here. Unfortunately I got Covid before my leaving Sri Lanka so I must stayed 7 days in quarantine. Owner help me so much while I was in quarantine. He was calling anyone I needed (medical laboratory, hospital, airport) to get some useful information so I could get better and go home safely. He and his wife was concerned about my well being and they getting me required medicine and anything I asked them. I felt very safe during my stay in Tandem Guest House which these days is very important. If you want comfortable accommodation, great breakfast and hosts who are so nice and who will be by your side if anything bad happened to you - then The Tandem Guest House is your perfect choice!

Everything was GREAT and wonderful!!!

One night only is Hikkaduwa so we picked somewhere no frills with a good location. Whilst this may not be the fanciest place, you don't need it to be. It was clean, well equipped with everything you could need, super friendly hosts and a real homely feeling. The location is actually just across the road from a walkway that leads to the beach (so you can't quite roll out on to the beach but almost) and just a little walk from some lovely bars and cafes like 'salty swamis' if you don't want to be sat in the sun all day or like a good coffee. You are in the middle of the two main beaches so explore both sides. There's a little area outside each room to sit and relax and the WiFi was great (if that matters to you) which we learnt was not a given everywhere! We were given a lovely breakfast in the morning, more than we'd expected as well as tea in the evening when we fancied it. Deserves the 10/10 in our book for being lovely hosts, great location and amazing value for money!

The room was spotlessly clean. Beds were very comfortable. There was hot water and everything you need. The owners are very kind, they can help you with great recommendations and they provide a classic tasty breakfast.

The aircon was a bit old and it took a lot of time to cool the room. Our room was right next ti the road and it was pretty noisy because of the cars.

Sunhil, our Host and his wife were exceptional. Warm, friendly, kind, and very welcoming. All of our questions & requests were accommodated. A varied and simple breakfast served every day. Absolutely exceptional service and value for money.

It was in the heart of Hikkaduwa so everything was an easy walk away. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were neat and clean.

There are a lot of mosquitoes around here so bring bug spray! The tiles are also slippery when wet - and they get very wet when it rains

Near to the main road we were in the room nearest to reception and the road was very noisy. Low water pressure in shower
