The old heritage building has a lot of charm. Yes it needs a face lift and we’re told it will be renovated next year. We stayed there for the location and view.
was a lovely surprise to have a complimentary bottle of wine and some nibbles. Didn’t expect that!!
Room was clean just the carpet felt tired and worn out.

Our experience was like back in the day and like stepping back in time. It was great! The TV was not smart so we were a bit worried about what we could watch. Luckily we bought our own DVDs to play on laptop. We were very happy!
It was good for the money. Like I said it was like stepping back in time but that was a good thing. How long ago? I imagined myself living in the sixties or seventies. It wasn't that I didn't like it though.

Loved the location so close to the beach. Amazing views from my room. The bed linen was clean and crisp, and the pillows were so comfortable. There was plenty of car parking and afterhours access was simple. Loved the historic facade of the building.
The Anchorage needs serious love it is very poorly maintained - chips out of walls, peeling paint, old carpets and poor-quality facilities in my room. The TV could not pick up any free to air channels. It is just very tired - I couldn't open the balcony door mind you the balcony looked like it need urgent restoration. The Cafe is now permanently closed but the promotional video on the Anchorage Website still features scenes of a vibrant and busy cafe.
