Comfort Hotel ERA Ishigaki Island

Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Hotel is well maintained with big car park even though we didn't drive on Ishigaki. Lobby is bright and cheery, setting up the mood for an enjoyable holiday. We like the cafe with free snacks and non alcoholic drinks where we can rest and have a drink after coming back from our trips. The breakfast buffet has a good spread of Japanese food that we enjoyed. Have to give special thanks 🙇 to their Brazilian receptionist💃 who helped with our check in and greeted and chat with us whenever we bumped into each other. She even managed to get us a taxi where Didi failed.

The eateries near the hotel are average.

Rooms were quite big and very clean and modern.

I booked a “Superior” Twin room thinking we would get a bigger room or better room or a room with a better view than the Standard Twin room. But no - we got a Standard Twin room (says that on the receipt) that cost more ? When I queried the bill I was told that a Superior Twin room is a Standard Twin with the option of adding a 3rd bed to make it a Triple room. As there were only 2 of us a 3rd bed was not added as we didn’t need it obviously. When I asked what I have paid extra for they replied that it was the room option that I had selected.??? Also be aware that half the rooms face the car park/road - the other half face a lush green golf course and the sea if on floors 4 or 5. We faced the car park.

Breakfast is good. The hotel is clean and bright. Our room has a beautiful view of the sea and golf course.

We requested a room with 3 persons. It surprised us to see a single bed facing the door. It is a taboo in our culture to sleep with our feet facing the door. Therefore, neither of us slept on the single bed. Three of us then tried to fit in the two double beds for sleeping.
