We had a wonderful stay over the thanksgiving holiday. A big thank you to John and Megan for being great hosts. It's a beautiful property and well worth a visit!

We are in Missoula installing exhibit furniture we built for a local insect zoo. Staying at this property has been lovely. Very comfortable with beautiful views all around us. The property manager has been very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again.

My family really enjoyed and appreciated this home for the 3 days. Plenty of room/living space, as it was presented on the sight, 4 bedrooms each with a queen bed, 3 baths. Good place for a family gathering or multiple friends. Small market/store and restaurant across the street. I would book it again!

The property fit our needs perfectly. Clean, well-stocked, and in a convenient location close to town.

A fantastic stay. Could not ask for more. Like another world. Beautiful, well-maintained older house. The wildlife is amazing. Hostess was very accommodating. I would give more than five stars if I could.

We enjoyed a 2 week stay at this lovely Rattlesnake property. The home is an historic one with 4 bedrooms and a delightful sun porch. The back yard was perfect for outdoor dining. Deer, wild turkeys, Magpies and hawks visited while we were there. The host owners were very helpful and communicated regularly. We hope to return!

This was a wonderful house for our family of 8. There was plenty of room for us and the location was idyllic. Everything was just right

The location is out of town a bit, but we really really like that. The yard is beautiful and there's a market just across the street. There are plenty of options and space for the group. There is quite alot of knick knacks, books and furniture which made it feel a bit like an antinque store. We also had grandparents/wheelchair/walkers which made back "ramp" access very appreciated. We are very grateful for this home away from home to gather in.

Stayed at this lovely historic property to visit family in the area. Enjoyed watching the wild turkeys and deer in the backyard area. A lovely little neighborhood market is located across the street which was a nice added convenience. Overall enjoyed staying at this delightful property.

This was a nice location just outside of town.

This was a lovely location for family to gather in the sunroom. We had five generations gather from around the country, ages 95 to 3mo. While most stayed in different locations, this was the primary gathering spot for meals and catching up. Thank you!

Couldn’t have asked for anything else!
Comfortable spacious beautiful Mountain View’s and even eclectic library! A pre1920’s farmhouse maintained with love and care!
Our family of six adults spread out comfortably in the four bedrooms and three baths.Nice neighborhood and large private yard with hiking trails in the mountains 2-3 miles away! Easy 5 mile drive to town Great!

We loved the old house and decor, especially after learning a bit of the family history and how the house was passed down. Four bedrooms in a variety of locations helped us accommodate early and late risers, plus we appreciated all of the table options and dish choices for entertaining. Daily visits from the deer never got old, and one evening we were treated to a male turkey’s courtship of the nearby hen. We took advantage of the wonderful fireplace at both ends of the day. A perfect house for a wonderful trip!

We loved this historic home nestled in the mountains and close to downtown. We had everything we needed to feel at home. The property owners are friendly and great to communicate with.
We were greeted by deer every afternoon. We could spend hours gazing out the windows or napping by the fireplace. There was also a well-stocked library.
We can't wait to come back with the whole family. When you find a place this lovely, you want to share!

This is a charming older home furnished to match (though a modern kitchen, plus tv, Internet, etc.) with a wonderful back enclosed porch and amazing (in size and views of nearby mountains) yard, close to a convenient market/restaurant and an easy drive to downtown Missoula. Hosts very responsive, helpful, and responsible.

Our family of both older adults and little children absolutely loved our time here. We especially enjoyed having coffee each morning and dinner in the evenings outside while watching the deer and wild turkeys roam the property. The home is spacious, and communication with John was smooth and easy. Our favorite local breweries, fishing spots, and hikes were all near by, and discovering great food/coffee at The Patio across the street was a bonus. We will definitely return!

Our group visited for a Montana/Missoula fishing experience .
The property was is in a pastural setting with deer leisurely grazing around the turn of the century home which has been restored with modern accoutrements. An ideal location near central Missoula and river recreation. A feeling of living history.

Amazing setting.
Old home with multiple additions that totally works! Room for the entire multiple generation family to gather together. But nooks and crannies for the kids to hide from the parents and the grandparents to hid from everyone when the time was right. Outdoor space is amazing. It defines the Rattlesnake canyon which defines Montana. Clean & comfortable and a good value. Just book it.

We stayed here last Christmas and it was idyllic, but it was even better in the summer. The large yard and orchard with the mountain backdrop provided the perfect place for our family to convene.

Delightful
Lots of room in this quaint place. The front street is a bit noisy but it didn’t bother us as the back of the property is a massive lovely yard that is quiet and peaceful with a lovely view.

Amazing time in a beautiful historic home. The space was ample for our family of 10:8 adults and 2 children. We absolutely loved the many thoughtful touches. Favorites were the Charlie Russell and the Ivan Doig and Mildred Walker collections. We adored perusing the many delights left for us to find and borrow. Beds were warm and comfortable, furniture was beautiful and comfortable. There was not a lot of hot water but we made do.

Griz weekend
Convenient location to campus and market across the street. Nice place, only unusual thing was no top sheets on any of the beds. We found them in a closet in one of the bedrooms and put them on ourselves.

We enjoyed the farm house and all the antique furniture, it was wonderful! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was nicely stocked. The house sits in a beautiful apple orchard with a mountain as the back drop, but what makes it really special was all the wild life we saw daily! In the three weeks we were there we witnessed three fawns born, wild turkey visited mornings and evenings, one black bear made a quick appearance, raccoon and a few squirrels, it was like we had our own wild kingdom😁. Megan and John were most helpful. The Rattlesnake Cafe and Market was handy and serves a delicious lunch on a lovely patio. We can’t wait to return next summer!!

First I want to say the hosts John and Megan were so friendly and helpful from the moment we booked! Our stay was made better by their responsiveness. Thank you!
This is an older, historical home with some lovely, fun quirks. Beautiful back yard and sun room. We really enjoyed having so much room to host family dinners, watch the deer in the back, and have out of town family join us for a few days of our stay. Everything you could need for a relaxing stay - including loads of books! That said, if you are looking for something more modern, this might not be right for you.
We hope to come back and stay again!

Tutt Family Vacation
This is a precious older home with plenty of room for large families. Most rooms have period furniture and fixtures adding to an opportunity to share with young ones how homes were in previous years.
The location is perfect for exploring Missoula yet quiet enough to welcome a herd of deer each day to roam in the back yard. We were fortunate to have one day of falling snow which some of our little ones had never seen. Seeing them making snow angels and hearing the squeals of delight or standing so still to not scare the deer are memories they will keep forever.
Every bed was very comfortable, there were plenty of linens and a well equipped kitchen. My only regret was my honesty as I really wanted to take the red breadbox home with me.
Every contact I had with owners received a fast response. We use HomeAway when taking family vacations so appreciate those home owners who go above in having their property ready, warm, and welcoming on our arrival.
We will definitely try to stay here on future visits.
